    Amazon Amazon issues

There are still issues on Amazon (even with the current beta 6.2.0.4).

    1. The episode numbers for the first 25 episodes are incorrect. The numbering only seems to be correct after those 25 episodes.

    2. The naming template is incorrect. If the file is 1080p and x265, the output shows it as 720p x264. This issue, however, only happens with series—it's not a problem with movies.

This issue has been around for over half a year now, making the template practically useless since it doesn’t work properly. The problem also occurs with Netflix, but it seems to work fine with Joyn.

    3. As everyone knows, video and audio quality can improve over time. For example, if Season 1 is only available in 480p, 128 kbps, and in French, by Season 5, it might be available in 1080p, 224 kbps, with English and Hindi as options.

Scanning individual seasons hasn’t been possible for several versions now. Taking a screenshot also no longer works, as the start page comes up immediately after analyzing in the background.

I would like to find out what the non-consecutive episode numbers are all about ..
.. but without a series title I don't see any chance (not available or paid epi?)

You must select a offered resolution - not "Best quality" => see here

I assume this issue is related to Amazon sometimes showing content from other countries, even if it's not available in the current region.

      For example:

"Supernatural" might be available in Germany with German audio, but there could also be an original version (OV) listed that’s not actually available in Germany. So, you get something like:

      - Episode 1 in German: Episode 1
      - Episode 1 OV: Episode 2
      - Episode 2 in German: Episode 3
      - Episode 2 OV: Episode 4
      - And so on.

Streamfab lists it like this, but since the OV versions aren’t downloadable, they don’t show up in the downloader (which is correct). However, the episode numbering still ends up looking strange.

Since I rarely download directly from Amazon, I don’t have a direct example. I mostly use channels, but posting one would reveal my interests, and I’d prefer not to share that.

I’m just pushing this again in the hope it won’t be overlooked or ignored this time.

Perhaps you have not yet noticed that various providers and
DRM MPD mostly no longer work because of the change to DRM 2830.

I think there are currently far more important problems than epi numbering.

The chaos with the episodes could be related to channels being booked. The way Amazon handles these channels is confusing. In particular, the Prime version of a title is overwritten by the channel version as long as the channel is subscribed to.

FWIW, since I was once told in these forums that the forums are not official support, and to open a ticket, I did just that for the 25 episode issue. I got a reply this weekend saying the devs are aware of it and working on it.

Before the last DRM update, everything was correct, and apparently, it’s correct again from episode 25 onward. Something in between is broken.

Standard response. Support is useless and couldn’t care less about bugs. I’ve reported plenty of issues, but all I ever got was a generic response, and nothing was ever fixed. There are plenty of other issues that have been around for years. I’ve given up on reporting anything to them.

I haven't opened enough issues to say one way or another, in fact I think this was the first ticket I ever opened. I do know it's a cat and mouse game, e.g. there's no way for the devs to predict when amazon is going to change how their website will change in advance. Amazon is arguably the most popular ripper, so I would imagine it gets a lot more attention. They fixed the last issue fairly quickly, here's hoping this one as well.
