Pluto TV Downloads won't play

I'm trying to download episodes of 48 Hours on Pluto with v. 6.2.0.4., and while the download process seems to be fine, the remux portion looks like it's making several passes rather than a steady progression, and the file doesn't have a thumbnail and is unplayable in anything but VLC.

All my downloads for this series now have the same result. This is with a clean install of 6.2.0.4. as well as v. 6.2.0.1. on two different laptops. If you can get a successful download it indicates it's a "me" issue, but I don't see how to remedy it.

Yes, it's the same segment again - possibly an error at Pluto (not SF)

Try a different bit rate/resolution ..
.. I tested the maximum error-free and now your selection ..

Nope, same result on three different resolutions for three different episodes.

Tried your selection 480p 1902 (real 1600) twice -> no errors

So perhaps the pluto error is only in your location (other Content Delivery region)

try to dl your missing segment here (works4me) and/or use vpn server in NY

Thanks so much for all your attempts on this - just one more thing, would you explain what you mean by "dl your missing segment"? I'm totally lost as to how the link would be helpful.

I was a bit distracted today ..
.. I thought 404 not found, but it was 403 Forbidden
So I can't say why only this segment repeatly fails for you and not for me

Theoretically, it should be possible to save the segment (here) with rightclick
and "Save link as..." and put the segment with the name from the log
during the download into the corresponding Temp\outputTemp\.. directory
(you see example directory name and the needed filename at end in code from #3)

I can't test this theory without any errors with 3 tested resolutions for s19e39

Have you tested with other vpn region?

Otherwise I think it's easier for you to use Pluto DRM free ..
.. for example with yt-dlp to get s19e39 with Nominal bit rate 1600

I was chatting with Pluto, and he said very nice things about you. I do not think he hates you at all. In fact, he thinks you just need to fix some settings, and you will be fine, and you and Pluto will be friends once again.

I'm not currently subscribed to a VPN outside of Norton, and as Chameleon is in my area and very kindly ran a test, I know it's not a regional issue - I'll try yt.dip in future, thanks for the suggestion!

Since I was able to play the file in VLC, I ran it through my converter and got what I needed this time. I appreciate all the effort you put into this and the time you took, it was very considerate of you!
