    StreamFab for Windows IP address

    Hi all,

So i read on a site that streamfab somehow tells or embeds the ip address of the downloader into the file. Is this true and if so does anyone know where it is?

I've never seen it, but if it is embedded and encrypted, how would one know? There are a few modules (I forget which because I've been away from the forum for a few months) that do list your SF email address in your log. All messages written on this forum do have attached an IP address that can be read by people with higher status. Strangely, it is an IP address in the Cloudflare IP range even if you are not using Cloudflare. I believe that whoever wrote the SF forum code for this advanced feature is mistakenly reading the SF IP address rather than the user's IP address. As an example, your IP address is showing as: IP address is: 162.158.154.109

Relax! No one at SF is out to get you. If you use the downloads for your own purposes and don't make the videos available for mass distribution, you have nothing to worry about.

If you mean the Link from october262 and Info in dl file ..
.. on some days I use more then 20 different IP adresses.
What would be the point of hiding them in the dl file?

The other way around brings you closer to the point.
There are supposed to be providers who embed user infos
in the files offered in order to be able to assign
files shared in the Internet to a user.

are you talking about Amazon etc embedding user info? I’m not distributing but I was just confused on the whole thing and I’m guessing running a file through an encoder might solve this anyway

I think so - that's why I wrote "sharing untouched videos in net"
