No subtitles...


Anyone else having problems with missing subtitles?
This applies to viaplay.no, download video works fine.
The last time there was something wrong with DRM MPD there were many download sites with the same problem.
Worked fine yesterday but not today.
Also can't get subtitles on previous downloads that had subtitles so there must be a change on the website.
Chrome also had an update today to V 131.0.6778.109(64-bit)

Chrome Update has nothing to do with subs detection.

Sounds plausible - but how we can you be helped now?

for 2 minutes:

for example, my experience, HRTi subtitle working. Pickbox never worked. BBC not working also (must use another subtitle downloader)

pickbox.tv + pickboxnow.com are not available in Norway, don't know which you mean.

untested - I never claimed that subs detection works for all providers ..
.. that will certainly never happen, there are too many special cases for a universal downloader
(see example mubi here)

btw: I'll try Seal Team.s07e10 from viaplay.no - when I'm at home in 6-7 hours
(perhaps I can detect differences)

I can confirm thaf SF don't offer subs for "Seal Team" from viaplay.no

Looks like more series (3 tested) affected and some movies also ..

Some titles offer mimeType="text/vtt" - thats detected by SF
and also (some titles only have) mimeType="application/mp4" codecs="wvtt"
that's not detected by SF

Ergo: SF offer subs if vtt + wvtt in mpd

As I said, it worked fine yesterday but not today.
Not long ago I downloaded Sealteam.S07E10 with subtitles.
I have also downloaded from Viaplay with subtitles for a long time and when the same download doesn't work now with subtitles, something has changed.
Assuming that the change is with Viaplay and not SF.

I have already pointed out the differences in Viaplay ..
.. and your SF did not modify itself overnight.

I've only ever taken the video from Viaplay (without SF) ..
.. when I wanted better quality for a movie
that matched my german 25 fps audio track.
That's why I have no long-term experience with SF + viaplay subs


btw: If you have the mpd url (info) you can use N_m3u8DL-RE to dl subs

Ok, don't understand much of N_m3u8DL-RE.
Takes time to learn this.

Thought, it can't hurt to test the new version today.
Did a new clean install of V6.2.0.8
But it went from bad to worse.

Tried again now, everything seems normal again with subtitles.
Must be something they were doing today that made subtitles unavailable.
