    YouTube StreamFab YouTube Download failing

I can no longer download YouTube videos with StreamFab
I'm running Ver 6.2.0.8 on a bang up to date version of Windows 10
It was working fine 2 days ago (03/12/24) using Ver 6.2.0.6

I press the down arrow (Bottom right of screen) and get the selection screen for resolution etc
    Press 'download now'
On the downloading screen it shows 'Analyzing' then starts to download then starts 'Analyzing' again and then downloading again
then crashes with the following error

unable to download video data: HTTP Error 403: Forbidden

I would supply a system log but I don't know where they're stored..
I suspect if the guys at Streamfab (Or anyone else) do a test they will get the same result

Any ideas or things you'd like me to try..?

    Regards

    Mark Padwick

Open in SF the "Hamburger Menu" (3 lines top right) select Settings
In "General" is Language and Directory .. below is "Log Directory"
    in this Directory is StreamFab.log

Thanks for such a speedy response Germania..
I've tried downloading the same video clip as you...Different sequence of events but ending with the same error code...
Safe to assume that it's something I've done that's caused the problem and I think I know what that might be:

When I upgraded to 6208 the Win10 partition ran out of space so I installed it on the D: partition...
That may be something that doesn't work properly and it's causing conflicts...

I'm going to try doing a full image copy restore of the Win 10 partition from about 2 weeks ago...Get Windows back up to date...
Uninstall Streamfab and then try a fresh install on the D: partition to try and avoid the space issue occuring again..

          Hi Michael

I've tried doing what I mentioned previously (Took ages) and then tried a download and it worked

          BUT
As soon as I signed into Youtube with my Google account it started failing again.
Try a sign-out from Youtube within Streamfab and then try a download and let me know how you get on..

Not ideal I know especially if you're trying to download from a paid site but it's a start and could be key to properly identifying the issue

          Regards

          Mark

I already wrote that three days ago:

.. so no Videos with DRM or age-restriction works anymore.

Video dl works (for me) only if not logged in

if logged-in always only Audio (or video fails)
That's exactly why I hate the fact that searching and reading has gone out of fashion ..
.. and everyone thinks they have to create a new topic about a known problem !

              Hello Mark

I've now tried it as you described, I logged out and I was able to download.
After downloading I logged in again and the error came up again.

I noticed that there was a new update today and there's a different error now.

              Regards
              Michael

If signed-in all fails - if not signed-in you get never 4k

So you try something impossible ..
.. check with yt-dlp and you will see there is no more as 1080p offered

What's going on?.What's the outlook?. When can we download from YouTube again?. In previous versions, the download worked, so why not bring back what worked? This shouldn't be a big problem.

                    Hi noydov111

I tried installing an older version of Streamfab that used to work...
                    Doesn't work anymore...!!
YouTube have obviously done something so I guess we'll just have to wait until the guys at Streamfab fix the issue
