Apple TV+ Apple TV+ Franklin - No subtitles on Samsung TV

Pulled down Season 1. Subtitles play fine on my laptop, but not on my Samsung TV. I've pulled the shows via both H.264 and H.265, with the subtitles remuxed into the video file as well as placing them in external files. Samsung TVs are supposed to be able to support H.265 with subtitles in an SRT file, but it does not work. No subtitle option shows up in settings. A subtitle option does show when remuxed into the H.264 video file, but still does not appear on screen. I'm referring to forced English subtitles specifically.

The mp4 files are on my Synology SAN drive, which is directly accessible from the TV. The TV is a Samsung Series 7 (43), maybe 5 years old.

do other movies have the same issue or is it just with Apple TV ??
you might try with MKV and see if that works. and are you using the FFmpeg encoder or the MKVToolnix encoder.

I'm using StreamFab x64, 6.2.0.7. The interface does not provide me with an option on which encoder to use for the container, only options are for the Audio codec to choose. I've gone with the default EAC 3.1. I just tried a different streaming service, no subtitles. My TV software is current.

Ah. Not a logical place where I would look for it. I would expect it to be on the same page you pick the audio codex's.
