YouTube Windows 10/11 goes into Shutdown in mid-YouTube download

On two different PCs (one running Windows 10 and one Windows 11), the last three updates for Streamfab YouTube have initiated Windows Shutdown whilst in mid-download from YouTube. Which video makes no difference. It's not that Windows crashes, it literally just goes into Shutdown mode before the videos have completed downloading (highest quality).

The only caveat I can think of is my anti-virus software is blocking devcon.exe from looking at browser cookies, which seems to be a fairly new 'suspicious' activity over the last few versions. What does that component do, and could this be the cause of the problem?

does your computer go into a complete shutdown (turns off) or does it go into sleep standby / hibernation ??

Full Windows Shutdown. Looking at the log file, it mentions that it has to shut down.

The anti-virus comment isn't relevant. I changed the settings to allow it and I still have the problem. In fact, the Shutdown seems to happen as the processing executable is running once the YouTube download has completed.

Do a clean install of 6.2.1.2. using these instructions - https://forum.dvdfab.cn/forum/stream...eamfab-windows

Do not skip any steps. NEVER do an online update using the update popup. Always do an update using the offline install file found in the yellow "sticky" section at the very top of this forum.

You can't process anything if your widevinecdm.dll files are missing. And they are, because you are updating using the online popup updater.

But widevinecdm.dll isn't missing. It is present in C:\Program files\StreamFab\StreamFab and in multiple other locations relevant to StreamFab on my PC. I also find it odd that an official forum is telling me NOT to use the official updater to update the app?

It is missing. Read your StreamFab.log. It is missing from where SF expects it to be.

A good many users that are in the know have been telling SF for close to 3 years to get rid of that troublesome popup updater. It is a well known fact that it causes problems with each update. Official or not, it is no damned good.
