Then use the updater included with SF, if it works for you. No one is forcing you to use the offline installer. I used the installer included with SF for a long time also with no issues. But then it happened, things did not work right, etc.
I figure now to save myself time and download the offline installer and things are fine and also the offline installer installs faster, most times, than the one included with SF.
SF gives a choice, so choose what works for each person.

Just know that it will be the first thing asked, especially if you're one of the few having an issue.

Sorry guys, haven't been around for a while. Life sometimes gets in the way.

I used to work with a programmer named Loring while working for an IT firm in the 90s. He was a pompous self righteous p***k and that's being kind. I can't count how many times he said "I don't have a problem with that" only to later have it shoved in his face by yours truly. No, you cannot share an Access MDB file across an entire company at the SAME time. No, you cannot connect two different BNC segments on the same NIC without a terminator somewhere. No, you cannot map the same drive letter to two different shares. No, you cannot stuff a floating point into an integer and not expect things to blow up.

I call this the Loring effect. Assuming a global truth based on an extremely limited and localized data set.

I understand the online updater has worked for 4 years. That doesn't mean it ALWAYS works in EVERY SCENARIO, and yup, you just got lucky. Before you get your panties in a bunch try doing a search here (yes, forums can do that) for "clean install" and I think you'll find there are THOUSANDS of posts on the subject in which at least 90% result in a solution to the issue if not more.

MSVCP140_1.dll looks to be related to Visual C++ runtime. I would look into reinstalling this runtime.

I use 6222 without problems with Win 10 Pro !
(like all Versions before - msvcp140.dll is included)

Try vc_redist.x64 here
if not works (after restart) old version here

edit: Is it possible that you installed the 32-bit version ?

Installing the vc_redist.x64.exe did the trick. It also fixed another problem that I had been seeing during updates (but never reported).

I had, just previously to the update, installed the latest Windows update.

By the way, I'm using an older Dell desktop that originally had Win 7 installed on it. It lacks the ability to upgrade to Win 11, so I'm looking for a replacement, something that will handle Unifab's AI capabilities.

I don't think people are saying "upgrade now button" upgrade never works, or always has problems. Its just that on occasions people updating that way have encountered an issue and using the offline installer fixed it. It takes less time to download the offline and use it than using "update now" and debugging should you encounter an issue.

Like over the years I've had an issue with StreamFab after using the "upgrade now" button to update only once or twice. So its rare for me, but it has happened, and this has driven me to using the offline installer because those one or two times, it took a while before realizing there was an issue applying the update. Beyond that, if you don't pay for Extended Download, having the offline installers allows you to roll back should a bug be introduced in the newest version.

If you followed the information on MKVToolNix you would know that there are no QuickTime-related problems. For whatever reason, the author (Bunkus) has decided that if the program finds video files that are damaged in some way, the resulting output remuxed file will be labeled as V_QUICKTIME. See https://gitlab.com/mbunkus/mkvtoolnix/-/issues/2555 as an example. It's one man's decision to go against the standard method. This has been going on for years, and every few months it becomes a hot issue on this forum when someone gets a botched download. Usually when some Bro here decides to show his ignorance.

Getting back to the OP and the problem with MSVCP140_1.dll and MSVCP140_2.dll, they MIGHT have reappeared if Windows had been restarted after the install. Also, I've noticed for a while that we see a lot more problems posted on the forum when the latest SF update falls in line with Patch Tuesday.

And finally, as has been my normal pattern since Windows 386, a year after Windows 12 comes out, I will purchase it, and it will be my primary Windows version. Until that time, I will continue to use Windows 10. I choose what I use, not Microsoft.

Win 11 Pro same issue upgrading to 6222
Two dll files are "not found" when StreamFab attempts to start. The files are MSVCP140_1.dll and MSVCP140_2.dll.

Reverted to 6221 with no problems.

Running Win10 Pro 19045.5487 and SF 6.2.1.9. No issues here.
My biggest reason for using the off-line update is that I then can keep the last 10+ SF versions ready to revert if any unintended bugs are introduced by a new version. Use the on-line update, and you have no way to go-back. Haven't need to lately, but there have been some issues in the past with breaking something when something else was "upgraded"

Have one HTPC running Win11 Pro - constant hassle with MS changing things from how I configured, adding things I don't want over & over again, and breaking working things. Latest 24H2 "update" broke network video sharing to the Win11 box. Had to do several Regedits on it to set things right.

Never have any problems with other seven systems running Win10 Pro or Home. Never had a virus or hack and seldom have any maintenance needed. No plans to mass update any of them - only a couple "qualify" for Win11 anyway.
