StreamFab for Windows Youtube Services -- TBS Unable to Authenticate

    Hi Everyone,

I am using StreamFab 6.2.2.5. When I go into the YouTube section, select tbs,com and try to authenticate it launches two windows and then nothing happens. The screens are also blank.

    Thanks

    I can't try this because I don't have a TV service provider:

I didn't get any further with AT&T - but Xfinity, for example, looked okay to me:

=> If someone can test this for you, they should know the provider you are using.

I was able to test with Xfinity and this is what I get

BUT thanks to jpp72 they let it known we can open up things in a separate browser.

Trying not to be too complicated but when on TBS hold down the shift key and click on the TBS as pointed to in Screenshot below.
Log in through new open window, and at least with Xfinity I had success. Can't test other providers.

Plain and simple: just use streamfab for Windows offline installer, which is always available at https://www.dvdfab.cn/mlink/download.php?g=StreamFab_x64

OK, never mind, once logged in you get 'this website is currently not supported or no video was found'

        log says ....

ADDED: Maybe someone else will have better success, I don't recall ever trying TBS.

I now tried at least 3 other programs including cleverget and recordfab and none will log in to TBS.

Try searching https://www.justwatch.com/ for the shows or movies to see if other sites might have them.

Sorry, should have clarified that this is while logging in as a Verizon customer. It does seem to work in my browser though.

I assume that this will not change with a different sign-in procedure ..
.. so try a Feature request

I may be a bit confused here, isn't this a bug of the product since it mentions it supports the URL?

However, if the analysis works, this is no guarantee that all login methods will work
i.e. trouble with adobe pass is known - example TCM here

I personally can neither confirm nor deny that the analysis works after login works
and because I've never a tv provider so I can't say if it works in past.

                  > I may be a bit confused here

If that's less confusing for you, call it a bug

I really don't want to keep interjecting I only did because Germania has no access to a cable provider.
From what you describe, jsmith1299, Xfinity does the same as what you describe for Verizon.
And looking at the one example with TCM and TCM, TNT and TBS are all the same company, it looks like the issue has been around for some time.
And like streamfab, recordfab and cleverget also 'claim' to support TBS, but have the exact same issue.
I don't know why those use adobe pass, and only they can answer. After reading what others say, I did try ESPN, and they ask for username and password to get into Xfinity.
I had then no issues with ESPN.
No matter what I do, I get this ...

But in the log it says I am not logged in.

2025:03:12-15:03:07 0x00007f88 [Info]: YouTubeDL: error - "[TBS] men-in-black-theatrical: This video is only available for users of participating TV providers. Use --ap-mso to specify Adobe Pass Multiple-system operator Identifier and --ap-username and --ap-password or --netrc to provide account credentials."

                    AND THE LOG ENDS WITH

                    2025:03:12-15:03:14 0x00000b18 [Info]: UpdateDownloadStatus : Status_request_metadata --> Status_request_metadata_failed

You can try to send the issue to SF support, with a log, but I would not hold out much hope.
As I said, the only thing even possible it to try searching https://www.justwatch.com/ for the shows or movies to see if other sites, like Tubi or pluto etc., might have them.
I hope in a way this helps you as well as Germania
                    .

You'll also want to include NBC, Bravo, and Oxygen. I went through https://www.nbc.com/mvpd-picker hell this past weekend trying to download an episode of New York Homicide. I never did get beyond the double Adobe roadblock, even though I have every right to stream those channels through Xfinity.

This is probably the key to the problem -
                      Code:
Use --ap-mso to specify Adobe Pass Multiple-system operator Identifier and --ap-username and --ap-password or --netrc to provide account credentials."
This must be added to SF's calling of FFmpeg.

Rather it seems that the adobepass auth flow that yt-dlp is using doesn't work with newly released content anymore

For me, it depends on the site. TBS and I am assuming TNT are completely broke. SF will not find the videos, a possible reason they are DRM, and or a possible reason a major site change.
NBC worked, although I only did limited testing.
ABC I wanted to get a few items and if not DRM I could get them, if they are DRM then the DRM downloader gives an error.
(Failed to obtain the decryption key, please contact us for assistance.)
[also, if you wait at least a week, you can then get the show, no DRM]
And who knows what they mean by 'newly released content' this always gets me and could be on NBC I don't know or did not try what is considered 'newly released content'.

This seems very complex and all I can say is waiting for SF to fix is pointless. The list of broken sites is increasing, and it's never known how SF developer prioritize what gets fixed.
I just can say it's not only SF as Recordfab has some issues with some of these sites as well as Cleverget and another unnamed program. Cleverget did give me an option to record the DRM show on ABC, but I did not feel like waiting for it to record it. I think Recordfab did too.

I hardly ever tried any of the sites connected with logging in via Xfinity. I find I can get most content other places. But yes I run into some content that is hard to get like the content I wanted from ABC, I also don't like that ABC pushes to get more content by buying access to Hulu. But so does MTV and I am sure other sites are doing it, like possibly fox.

All I know is it seems it's been broken awhile and if it's partly due to yt-dlp maybe they can fix? But it seems it taking them time too. But if it is also DRM issue, fixing yt-dlp won't help much as SF kicks in the DRM module. And some sites can be authorized by SF and some can't and this is then the adobepass sh!t.

Ok, I went a bit further and tested with yt-dlp, and it seems possible it's most or all content on TBS is an issue, although I can't test all TBS content, that you do get, if using yt-dlp the 451 error.
For ABC, it could be the NEW content as the show I was trying comes out with a new episode once per week, the newest show also comes with the 451 error, after about a week you can then get it either using yt-dlp or via StreamFab.

It's an easy yt-dpl command, although you still need a cable TV service provider.
                            Code:
                            yt-dlp --ap-mso Comcast_SSO --ap-username your@email.most.likely --ap-password password "URL"

You're right. I got FFmpeg and YT-DLP mixed up. I don't use either one of them as much as you do, well, especially YT-DLP.
