Disney+ Marvel Shows originally from Netflix now on Disney+ missing forced subs

I recently downloaded Marvel's Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher from Disney. All of these shows were originally on Netflix. They seem to be just direct ports of the shows from Netflix to Disney with no change. Netflix stored the Forced Subs as SRT files, where Disney usually has this burned in.

Specifically noticeable in Daredevil Season 1 EP 4 where half of the episode is spoken in Russan. You can clearly see the dialog with closed captions enabled.

It was not an option for me last week. Maybe they already fixed it. I'll have to check again when my current run of recent episodes finish downloading.

en forced is not offered for s01e01 so you need to play s01e04 before analyzing ..
.. and D+ has not forced for all languages - in Germany is not de forced offered:

D+ subs offer for Marvels Daredevil.s01e04:

That's the problem. This was an issue with Netflix from back when this software launched. If Episode 1 did not have forced it would not show it as an option.

Since Disney+ starts analyzing the moment I click the show, it always analyzes episode 1.

It was a royal pain to get it to analyze episode 4.

Whatever they did to fix this with Netflix, they need to now do with D+

If I understand your situation correctly, that can be remedied simple by turning off the automatic analysis in your Settings.

Yes, I turned that off. Still, had to get it to start playing the episode. Which of course the analyze button is greyed out for. Stop the episode, go back out to the home screen. go back to the series and repeat till the resume episode button is there and then you can hit analyze. A lot of extra work. And you have to know which episode actually has forced subs. And you figure that out before they pull it off the service.

Something that can be fixed if they do a little extra analysis

I click play (on s01e04) and click back (arrow) and click (manual) analyze
three clicks - what a "royal pain"

How this? - without analyzing all episodes? (perhaps >100)

And if so, the next user writes: Hey, I selected en-forced for s01e01
but it's not dl - so fix it .. (but it is not offered by D+)

I haven't tested in this exact scenario (don't have D+ anymore) - but did you tell it to always download forced subtitles in the config screen? I have that checked and *usually* don't have issues.

This was not the experience for me.

you forgot the part about having to know an episode has forced subs, and which episode. Am I to manually check each episode?

It is how Netflix works currently. And it doesn't analyze each episode.

Hasn't been issue since the software was released...

Of course not, because you can't select an unoffered subs for an episiode

                        > It is how Netflix works currently.

If I analyze a series (default s01e01) and the first episode
has no de forced but the second epi, I can't see/select de forced
for the whole serie (without analyzing s01e02) - so it's the same like D+

So the only difference is "Always download the forced subtitle"
(what is useless if I don't like always manually deselect non forced subs
because I can't preselect de forced without de, what I would prefer)

And in the case of D+, the other behavior is due to the unusual name (see #4)
of the forced sub: en--forced-- and yes, that should be easy to solve
