StreamFab General Query Deciding factors to branch out as a separate downloader from M3U8/MPD downloader

i would like to know what are the deciding factors that a downloader is being launched and sold as a separate product rather than being packaged under M3U8/MPD downloader.
for instance, demand, stability and robustness in code that it doesn't break often, service is up and running long and mature enough to branch out, etc.?
appreciate the advice.
