DRM M3U8 Crashes when signing in

Not having problems downloading more than three files but I am having issues with u.co.uk. My last successful download from there was probably a couple of months ago.

"U" used to work fine and I'm pretty sure that it was a DRM MPD site. Might be wrong about that. Anyway, now, just doing basic navigation around the site causes SF to crash. I have attached a fresh log file and it seems that SF is now identifying u.co.uk as a YouTube Plus site:

[Info]: [Setup Website]: Website Type: "Youtube Plus" , Url: "u.co.uk"

Guessing something has changed on "U" which is confusing SF

I "only" know this problem for ITVX (info) ..
.. which website are you referring to?

If you mean ITVX, there was probably no SF correction

There will absolutely never be a fix if you don't give us some information to work with. If you had simply written the word "BROKE", you would have given us pretty much the same amount of information that you've given above. Read the stickie at https://forum.dvdfab.cn/forum/stream...eamfab-section to see the type of information that is needed to help us figure out the cause of the problem. The really key bit of information needed is providing us with a copy of your StreamFab.log. There are two ways of finding the file, both starting off with clicking the "hamburger" at the upper right edge of the StreamFab app. The "hamburger" is three parallel horizontal lines as shown below.

Click image for larger version Name:	Screenshot 2025-06-18 4.50.27 AM.png Views:	0 Size:	2.4 KB ID:	464350Hamburger

This will bring up a pop-up that looks like this...

Click image for larger version Name:	Screenshot 2025-06-18 4.57.11 AM.png Views:	0 Size:	51.6 KB ID:	464353

Click "Open Log Folder" to go directly there, or click "Settings" then "General" and it will list where your log folder is. If using Settings>General, you can go there using Window's File Explorer or some other file manager.
Please delete or rename your current StreamFab.log. Run ONE download that you are having problems with. When done, attach the new StreamFab.log to your post here using the "Upload Attachments" button. Do not post the log text within the message. Do not edit this new StreamFab.log in any way, including removing any line(s). Do not send the entire log directory. Do not send any other file but StreamFab.log. If you follow these instructions, there is no need to compress the file using ZIP, RAR, or any other compressor program.

In your case, instead of running ONE download as requested normally, continue to download until the crash appears. Make note in your post as to how many downloads it took until the crash appeared. That way we can easily find the problem download attempt.

According to your log, SF crashes before a title is requested ..
.. I have never seen this myself with SF.
That's why I still have no idea what your problem might be.

For me fresh login and analyzing is fine (with same 6241 and Win10)

          playing in SF is fine

          and of course download successfull

I can confirm hartashford's problem. Whenever I attempt to sign in to u.co.uk, SF immediately crashes and displays a report to be sent to DVDFab. At first, I thought it was because I stupidly forgot to use a VPN to log into a UK site from the US. I set up the VPN and the same thing happened. I made several attempts with and without VPN, and they all wound up in crashes.

Yes, something strange is going on with the basics of SF navigating around u.co.uk. Glad it's not just me with Cats4U and the OP in the 3 download crash thread having the same issue. For me, sometimes SF will crash at sign-in on "U" but at other times it will succeed and then crash when I click on any menus or buttons.

Interestingly, the issue seems to be unconnected with the actual downloading from the site. Having successfully logged into "U" on SF, I went onto "U" using a regular browser, navigated to a programme then cut and pasted the url into SF which went straight there and analysed the programme and let me download.

Germania explained the reason for this in this post https://forum.dvdfab.cn/forum/stream...094#post463094 (which boils down to the website itself needing to be upgraded, rather than Streamfab).

If you still have access to old versions of StreamFab, a workaround is:

Revert back to StreamFab version 6.2.2.0, add all the things you want to download from u.co.uk to your MPD queue, then re-install the latest version of StreamFab and download them.

They're talking about www.u.co.uk "even signing in on u"

Which is discussed in this thread and this thread.

You're right. I missed the tail end of the original post with the "even signing in on u". I tend to go partially blind (figuratively) when someone expects a problem fixed but doesn't give any information to work with. I'll merge them together again.

Thanks for the links to previous threads which seem to be connected with u.co.uk's "well this is embarrassing..." messages. My problem here is that SF itself is crashing out and closing.

I have found that clicking on the account icon in the top right on "U" and signing in there generally lets me in. If I can get that far then my workaround is to use another browser to navigate to each programme page in turn cutting and pasting each url into SF as I go. Once SF gets on the "U" programme page, it will analyse and download properly.

I don't which posts in this thread you read but the thread is about a combination of not being able to add more than around 3 www.u.co.uk downloads to a queue without StreamFab crashing and the "well this is embarrassing" issue where StreamFab won't download queued MPD files from U.

That's why in my workaround above I need to both reinstall 6.0.2.0 to be able to add downloads from www.u.co.uk without StreamFab crashing and then reinstall the latest version of StreamFab to download them. Before this, it was possible to just reinstall 6.0.2.1 and both add and download but that now leads to the "well this is embarrassing issue".

I did notice yesterday that a few of the U files I had queued downloaded without any sound when I used 6.2.4.2 so I don't know if that was a temporary glitch but I've gone back to 6.2.4.1

It's good that you've found another workaround so hopefully that will help others who haven't got access to the older versions of StreamFab.
