Before sleeping I had also tried AAC and it failed with the same error
"Dec audio fail" - The same thing happened in Europe instead of the USA.
Then I tried with HDR10 720p and the same error - also with DoVi ..

.. I get it only in H265 SDR (H264 untested) - but not in offered 4k

From my manually test I know that HDR10 + DoVi use a different KID/Key ..
.. but my license request become no 000 .. (like FHD with L3) for this KID.

I tried with AAC and it still fails. And to answer the question: Animation looks significantly better in HDR on my TV .
does download still fail if you choose 1080p ??

Tested (via vpn in USA) and Download looks fine but Audio (english EAC3) fails ..
    Code:
[Critical]: "[DownloadControlMax]" **** Dec audio fail. The error is : 505
[Info]: SetErrorCode force - errorcode :505 (will change to :505)
So perhaps it works with AAC ?

Even if it's unclear to me why anyone need an animated film in 4k ..

FYI: SF 6245 has resolved this issue for me. Duster and Gilded Age download at 4K h265 HDR10

I can't even get 1080p SDR in H265 - I get the same error. I have to drop to H264. I think I'll delete my streamfab.log file and make it fail with 4K/HDR, then file a bug report through the client so they're aware of the issue. Not that it'll get fixed any time soon, but it will (hopefully) get on their list of things to fix.

FYI: SF 6244 change nothing for me with Max H265

All "The Gilded Age.s03e02" in H265 HDR >720p and
all "Duster.s01e07" in HDR10 fails with "Failure starting download"

The only “Duster.s01e07” in H265 that I get is max 1080p (960p) SDR

    weird - I get both episodes in H264 1080p ..
.. so it can't really be a problem with the >HD (720p) key

Looks like a change at Max .. with "The Gilded Age.s03e02"
it's the same that I get the "Movie Mode" after play for analyzing
(But the download does not start with this one either)

    Code:
    [Info]: "[WVMax]" license is NULL!
[Critical]: "[DownloadControlMax]" **** Get download Processed fail. The error is : 307

Maybe coincidence - but I was logged out
and had to solve a puzzle to log in again

I get HDR10 only in 720p (so perhaps the other Key >HD is the problem)

I only managed a single test before work and the analysis looks okay:

But the download of s01e07 didn't work for me in USA or Europe on the first try.

There seems to be something different with this episode (or all new releases) ..
.. because when I start the episode before analyzing I get the “Movie Mode”

I'll probably try a manual download after work (and The Gilded Age S03E02 with SF) ..

If I select Dolby Vision instead HDR10 - it's of course not HDR10:

I never saw a Max title with DV but no HDR10 - so no fall back needed/used

Previously you had to set it in VIP settings - now you can choose on-the-fly
but the offer and result are the same - so what?

btw: If you need an "universal format" use SDR instead

I see no problem with current SF (tested in SE):

(like it did a few versions back)? Now I must choose between DV or HDR10, which means I must download the movie twice (If I want to watch it on either my Nvidia Shield 2017/Samsung TV or if I would like to watch it in the best quality on my Shield 2019/LG C3 TV...

It was much better before when I could choose a 'universal' format (Dolby Vision HDR10 compatible)
