    DL Quality Paramount+ and Netflix

I have noticed over the last few days issues that I have not experienced before.
With Netflix (old & newer titles) the DL resolution is quite low. All lower than 720p. If it does have a higher resolution then it is only HDR10 or Dolby Vision which I have difficulty playing over Emby.

Paramount+ the DL resolution is quite low on almost any movie I try. I did DL about 4 movies a day ago and after that I keep only getting these low quality DL selections. I wonder, are they "throttling" my account. Is that a thing? Why would a movie like Scream 6 have such a low res?

Check the resolution in Chrome or Edge Browser
NEVER use the update function within Streamfab. Always download the offline file!

I am still getting 1080p except for those oddball (Universal Studios?) films on Netflix which top out at DVD quality. (E.g., Man Who Knew Too Much). Using latest SF, and have full paid NETFLIX UHD no ads account.

I am inside the stream fab browser. Is that controlled by my default browser settings. Right now, Top Gun Maverick is 1024*768 in Paramount+

In SF only max 576p is offered for me (like Scream 6) ..

.. but in Browser the manifest.mpd contain FHD:

No, but if it's only SD in the system browser, it can't be better in Streamfab... The expert test is to read the MPD, like Germania always does :-)

How do you do it in the CMD?

Now paramount is giving me encryption key errors.

If you mean downloading from P+, forget it ..
.. with P+, you don't get the key to decrypt it that easily

When it comes to verifying the offered bit rate - see example here

                  > Now paramount is giving me encryption key errors.

All new releases and all SF versions are affected ..

It's the DVD quality pandemic is spreading :-) I am finding more and more DLs with DVD quality. I never experiences this before and I have had streamfab for a long time. It's crazy. I tried a few different things but nothing.

It's because some content is only licensed to Netflix in 720p or whatever. Tends to be a lot of older films which never got a 4K upgrade or 'HD' not noted when viewing in normal app or AppleTV app etc. I have cancelled download of whole bunch of films due to the "not 1080p" thing. Nothing to do with SF, as that is how they are on Netflix for everybody even with my UHD no ads account. But yeah, noticed it too - kinda annoying.

Yeah, I am finding newer and older films have poor resolution from Groudhog Day to Top Gun, to Mission Impossible Fallout. So weird that it seems to just start happening recently to me.

It's nice that you mention whether you mean Netflix or P+...

I tried only "Mission Impossible Fallout"

You can see it's offered in 1080p

but SF can't currently get this:

The reason is in 6248 Changelog:
(NOTE: Due to some upgrade for Paramount+,
new videos can only be downloaded in a maximum resolution of 540p.
We are still investigating this issue.)

I did 5 downloads from Paramount+ today. South Park S27E02, ST SNW S3E4 and 5, Dexter resurrection S1E4 and 5. All 5 offered in 1080, Only the South Park episode was actually downloaded at 1080. The other 4 were downloaded at 540 and did not have their SRT files.

Since users can't fix the 540p issue,
("new videos" apparently refers to all series that are still getting episodes)

I only tested Dexter Resurrection.s01e04 with (en) subs (in the USA)
and I can confirm that I get no (extract to) srt subtitles.

                              Code:
                              [Info]: [DownloadCBS]" "subtitle stream empty, langCode :eng, path : .. Temp/outputTemp/Paramount+/ .. /Period_00/Sub_00/st_00.srt, exists :0, size :0

If I use the manifest.mpd url from StreamFab.log I see that the subtitle exist:

see workaround to get srt subs here
