What's "best"- peak rate or overall rate? There's no algorithmic solution for this.

Close but not fully. Missing these 2 features:

Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	3.5 KB ID:	466629

Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	3.8 KB ID:	466630

Something that is missing from both and would be really nice is choosing MP4 or MKV right from that pop-up. I sometimes change it to MP4 to test something and forget to put it back to MKV and i end up downloading 100 files that need to be remuxed to MKV

How about getting version 7 working with TBS, TNT, ABC, NBC etc.... Since they don't work in version 6. yt-dlp fixed this awhile ago.

I'd love it if Amazon (or other sites) would also allow 1080p HDR/DV downloads. I currently use this extensively on D+ and it works great!

Variation on two of my biggest requests have been mentioned so far, but I'll type them here:

    1. An option to do a "clean" install, i.e. remove older version, its registry entries, files, data, folders, etc. then install new version. However retain settings if possible.
    2. When analying is complete, for the pop-up selection with Mode, Video Codec, Bit rate type, resolution, etc. consistent service to service. If an item on that screen isn't available for a service maybe gray it out for that service or add the word "unavailable" next to it. Have the Preferred Settings under StreamFab Settings be the default selections (like H265, EAC3, etc.)

    others in no special order

    3. Add button to clear log and temp folders in the app. I understand that qcef needs to be closed to clear qef.log from the log folder, so maybe skip deleting the qef.log or force close qef, wait, delete, then restart it?
    4. Make the Default Name Template work consistently with all downloaders.
    5. Ensure StreamFab does NOT use My Documents, or a folder in My Docs, for anything!! By Default, do not use any folder that might be backed up/synchronized with OneDrive!!
    6. Allow editing the order of download modules on the VIP Services Tab, or allow filtering on this tab. In other words, I don't subscribe to all streaming services supported by StreamFab, so I'd like to either not show downloaders I don't use, or move them to the "end of the list" on the VIP Services tab, and put those I do use first, in an order I choose.

    From version 4.00 to 5.00

New: This is the first official version of StreamFab 5. All existing users can upgrade to the new version for free.

    From version 5.00 to 6.00

New: Introducing the brand-new StreamFab 6. All existing users of previous versions can upgrade to this latest version for free.

    Any questions?

If there's a new module for a provider, you'll obviously have to pay, but not for existing providers...
well, I hope that's still true, although I'm currently paying module by module, but still

In my post above, I wrote, "Wilson vetoed that change...". I worded that wrong. I should have written, "Wilson vetoed that policy and approved a change...".

Hopefully that continues to track. Thank you for pointing this out.

There is no reason to download all subtitles unless you are distributing the content.

I'd like to see an option button to download best picture quality available (bitrate or HVEC), all subtitles, and best sound available (Atmos or 5.1). Maybe let AI choose.

You need to go back further than version 5 to see what they are capable of moneywise. Unfortunately, they've taken away my ability to search for prior posts (among other things) so I can't document specific threads, but you or someone else can do it. There was a time early on in the life of StreamFab (wasn't even called that yet) when All-in-One Lifetime meant that you received every module and every future module for the lifetime of the product. Wilson vetoed that change and there was a big uproar. They set up a deal that if you bought within a certain amount of time, they would honor the true All-in-One Lifetime but after that time, you had to pay for each new module. There was a lot of confusion about the terms of the deal, and they extended the cutoff date of the deal a month or so. There are still members here that are receiving every new module based on that deal. The rest now have to pay $129 for the New Products Guarantee, which at one point was just the way All-in-One Lifetime worked.
I never said that they were going to charge you full price for version 7. Anyone that buys software knows that it is a common practice among software companies to charge a small fee when upgrading to a major update like version 6 to 7. So far, DVDFab (the company) has not done that yet for SF. That doesn't mean they won't do it sometime in the future. As I've pointed out, in the past you got every new module for free until you didn't. Things sometimes change when money is to be had.

If that happens then not only will I probably not buy at least into the All in One again but they need to update the wording that the lifetime guarantee is only for that specific major version number and if that were to happen, sales for the AIO at least going foward would probably plummet. Imagine someone gets the AIO with the lifetime guarantee like say days or weeks prior, Version 7 releases and you're required to pay out again hundreds of dollars just to get back that kind of access again. The smart thing to do for them would be to make sure that's honored for the next release or else I think they will be having many unhappy customers. If we pay for the AIO with a "Lifetime Guarantee" then it should be reflected as to us that's the way it's currently worded, not that it's only for Version 6.
