HBO Max 6250 - HBO MAX cannot download series

    Hello,

6251 is broken at all for HMAX. 6250 can not analyze seasons, only single episode of the season. Do anybody have same issues ? Tried to dl Peacemaker and Deadliest catch... If I run analyze at the series windows SF is stuck in the analyzing loop. If I play an episode and hit analyze, only the current episode is offered to download...

With 6251, I was able to DL Peacemaker S02 E01 in 1080p. It did give the warning that it might not be able to, but it did anyway.

Upgraded to 6250 and I was able to download two movies, but every series episode I've tried gives a "failure starting download, please contact us for help" error. Anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions? With all the series episodes I tried, I tried to dl individual episodes, not whole seasons.

First of all: No double posting please

              > Anyone else encountered this?

Nope, 6250 works for me better with Max series as 6251 (sample here)

Name title and country or better attach your StreamFab.log
I may have the same problem with your attempted episode

                Apologies for the double posting.

Country is Australia. Examples of failed episodes were Chernobyl 1.1 and Peacemaker 1.1.

I've attached the log for the latest attempt to get Peacemaker 1.1

The one difference is that I tried to download as H264 whilst in your example you did H265.

Edit: I tried Peacemaker 1.1 as H265 rather than H264 and it worked. In both cases I selected the max available quality. I have an older tv so I need H264 for that. Chernobyl 1.1 also works in H265. if I drop the Peacemaker 1.1 [264] down to 720p, it also downloads. So the issue appears to be series at 1080p and H264. Ive previously downloaded everything from Max/HBOMax/etc in H264 at 1080p with no issues.

                  Code:
[Critical]: DeSerialization videotrack failed : "9999999:1080:1920"
After checking the mpd from your log, you can see there is no 1920x1080 in H264 (avc) offered:

SF can't dl what is not offered ..
                  .. from Max Australia

Thanks. That makes sense. Max must've recently changed what's available in H264 since I successfully downloaded Chernobyl 1.1 only a few weeks ago in H264 at 1080p as well as some episodes from other series (and the rest of Chernobyl).

I saw the "if available", but presumed if it wasn't available, SF would drop to the highest quality that was available. Evidently it doesn't.

Slightly off track, but what's the preferable H265 to download, SDR or HDR10, in terms of wider hardware playability? I noticed you had SDR selected.

When it comes to compatibility, I would always recommend H265 SDR ..
.. but of course you can try with HDR10/DoVi and check on your Player/TV

btw: It's not the first Max epi that is not offered in H264 1080p => see also here

Thanks for your help. Missing 1080p H264 versions no doubt predate this .. but this is the first I'd encountered them and one of them (Chernobyl) is a relatively recent restriction. Oh well ... H265 with SDR it is.

HBO's HEVC encodes are actually really good, there's no point wasting space (and time) getting AVC from them... seriously!
