I can't determine this with Amazon and Netflix ..

Not having this issue with .51 edition over here.
I did have something like this happen couple months back with one of the channels (not Amazon), where it would error on one item. Then when I came back later to try restart, crashed with the sending error to SF popup IIRC.

Cleared cache/temp folder, relogged in, re-added to queue and then it worked.

Everything with this software is like that. For me, after pausing and restarting it tried once to download from Netflix, Amazon and Max simultaneously(!) - and of course failed miserably at that. Or it would crash. Or it would hang. Or it would stop responding to clicks. Whatever.

I'd recommend - instead of pausing - to just close and restart SF. You might also be forced to kill some leftover processes after closing and before starting it again.

Furthermore, I'd recommend to use Process Explorer (freeware) to just 'Kill Process Tree' instead of closing the SF: it's much faster and cleaner that way and works for me every time.

software crashing can be issue with windows, write permissions, etc.
SFC /scannow can fix many random gremlin issues with things crashing if your system is not stable.

Before running sfc /scannow, you should run DISM first.

Dealing with SF for quite some time now, I'm seeing SF as a gremlin itself :).

The contents of this forum (including this very thread) serves as a perfect proof of that... the amount of advice consisting of cleaning, cleaning and cleaning again (the cache, the installed files, and now the system itself) - just to get SF to work at all - says for itself.

The likes of @Germania and @jpp72 (among many others) and their persistence in helping others against all odds are both appreciated and needed - but really shouldn't be, as SF is a paid (and very expensive!) software. The official support being a joke is what seals the deal there.

Sometimes I find it helpful to threaten to hit my computer over the head with a very large mallet conveniently hidden behind my back at all times.

otherwise I run this to make sure windows is, well not being windows. (make sure to elevate to admin first)

Since 6248 SF crashes more and caused older versions to crash instantly when opened.

Might be why they disabled versions < 6247.

Has this been mentioned elsewhere as I've just checked and you're right but it means I can't use www.u.co.uk or mubi as they both needed 6241 to download?

I also need to use 6247 to use TPTV encore, so I'm guessing that will soon become unusable too.

I agree with the OP. Since I started using SF (around May), this has happened to me quite often, although lately it's been happening more frequently. I don't think it has anything to do with which streaming provider it happens with, it's simply a SF issue.

Thanks @Germania You were right and 6250 is still working for Mubi and TPTV. I'd skipped 6250 as I was using 6220 and 6224 for www.u.co.uk but then didn't download for a while, so I'd tried them with 6251 and 6252 and couldn't get them to work.

I've tried both again this morning with 6251 but still can't get them to work but I'm not sure whether that's because they're a bit hit and miss, or if there's a change from 6250 to 6251.

I'm curious what was in your deleted post but I'm guessing from your delete comment that it wasn't something that wouldn't have helped.

My post no. 15 was not approved after posting – sometimes this has to be done manually.
That's why I split the U and Mubi parts into two subsequent posts (#16+#17).
Once #15 became visible, these were no longer necessary.
