New PLEX module not working. Should leave well enough alone.

Should leave well enough alone, as u could download from Plex before. With DRM MPD, and just checked still works in 6255. (using app.plex.tv)
AND got the movie I selected.

Ok, so in 6256, as there are 2 Plex icons in VIP, I tried App PLEX, and analyze just stayed gray. No matter what I did, even trying to play a movie.

So then tried the Watch PLEX, and the only way to get it to analyze was to play a movie; you will get an error playing after a few seconds.
If you don't play the movie, it goes into endless analyzing.

The downside is that it did not download the movie I selected and played; it downloaded some other movie and named it the movie I was trying to download.


So it might be helpful if the developer or streamfab staff explain how to get it to work!!


I hope to try further tests in time, but I doubt I will get different results.
OK, after more testing, any movie I tried, I got a different movie than what it was supposed to be, or an error.

Again, all worked in 6255, with DRM MPD, but it is slow to download.

And with, 6255 downloading Pleasantville, I get Pleasantville.

As far as being a user of SF, not the developer, and checking Plex and having used Plex for a pretty long time, there seems to be no logical reason why you get some other movie when using Watch Plex.
I just know you do, and you can try downloading the movie Pleasantville 10 times, and you will get Penelope 10 times.
I even went as far as selecting Penelope to see if I would then get Pleasantville, but I got yet another different movie.
So that's why I say Do NOT use the Watch Plex option, this will still download random movies, not what you picked!!!!

What I had to do and why. I first had to delete any and all leftovers after uninstalling, 6257.
This had to be done as once I got SF to download from App Plex, while SF was downloading, it would crash every time till I cleared all files.

After going over all my steps I did to get App Plex to work, you MUST have Auto Analysis, Automatically start analyzing content is available, checked. If this is not checked, nothing will happen. Once that is checked, go to app.plex.tv or use the option in the VIP section App Plex, click a movie, and analyzing will start and gives you the option to download, and then you get the movie you want.

It also seemed to make a difference to be logged into Plex versus not being logged in.

Hope this helps others and works as good for others as it does for me.

Yes, but play the movie, odds are it's not the movie you selected once downloaded and played.

Well, it does download a movie - although the wrong one. app.Plex has an inactive Analyze button, but in watch.Plex if you start the movie and Analyze it will give you the download screen - and then download the wrong movie.

But hey, it is downloading from Plex. So maybe they're half way there.

Plex is NOT fixed either in 6257; I did not have trouble analyzing like the update log says.
I get the wrong movies. 6257 is the same as 6256; I got the movie Penelope instead of the movie Pleasantville. :/
I think the main issue is that when downloaded, it calls the movie file Pleasantville, so the developer figures it works, yet it's the movie Penelope.

AND STILL app.plex.tv the download option does not function at all.

In 6255 app.plex.tv worked in DRM MPD, and Pleasantville gives me the movie Pleasantville.

no longer use manual analysis and need force “Auto Analysis” instead

...it's just that the required “automatic analysis” (without prior info) came as a surprise to me.
