UHD Drive Tool Do I need the drive tool? Or ok on firmware version?

Hi there, I'm a little confused on how to determine if I need to buy the UHD drive tool.

I have:

4x WH16SN40 (NS50) and 2x WH14SN40 (NS50) drives available.

While, it says that these drives are supported, I'm having a hard time finding a statement on what version of firmware is recommended for these.

Does anyone know what firmware version I need for each of these? That'll determine if I need the drive tool.

are you able to read & copy UHD discs with dvdfab or passkey ??
if not then you'd need the drive tool.

My understanding was that it isn’t all-or-nothing, but that there were preferred firmware versions that work better than others?

I currently have 3 firmware versions across all drives and can read uhd disks. Unfortunately I’ve never been successful with a disc rip or copy as I get tons of read error - and that’s with a brand new disc that I bought for testing purposes.

read errors are usually caused by a dirty/scratched disc or sometimes the disc copy protection isn't
fully supported or being properly removed.
