UHD Converter No audio when converting UHD to Blu Ray

Not sure if the UHD Converter is the right place to post this. I'm describing the situation below that I did for 2 different movies: Logan, and Sonic 2.

I have the UHD to Blu Ray converter. My optical drives work just fine (firmware is correct). When I convert a UHD to Blu Ray, the process is "successful." I don't do anything other than use the default settings for producing an ISO that is under 50Gb.

When I burn the ISO to a disc (50Gb), using Active ISO Burner software, the burn process goes smoothly.

Placing the disc into either a 4k player or a Blu Ray player shows the menu for the completed disc.

When I hit "play" the video is as expected, but there is no audio. If I check the disc settings, there are 3 audio choices (sometimes, there are 4 choices). If I choose the second audio (one down from the first one), then there is audio, but it's the audio where a narrator is describing the movie as it moves along.

The third option for audio also works, but it's the director of the movie narrating it.

The first one has no audio.

I've submitted this information to tech support, but it's been months since they have responded. They are kind and say that they are working on it, but then I hear nothing from them.

As I said, the video looks absolutely superb, but I can't get the audio to work.

Are there settings that I should be changing? I sure could use some help on this matter. Thanks.

Meanwhile, to confirm, did you playback or preview the audio tracks before you started the conversion? Do you have the audio track you need?

Mona, as far as the preview, I did not. I don't know where that is located for the audio. When I do a preview, it just tells me that I can't preview the movie, "but rest assured, the movie will play perfectly" or something to that effect. My email for submitting the information is xxx. Thanks.

try going into common settings - av codec - switch everything to software (disable all GPU codecs for decoding and encoding) - restart dvdfab
and convert your UHD to blu-ray again and see if you get audio.

october262. I did what you suggested, but the result was the same. Silent on the main audio. The other two selections have, once again, the narration.
I looked at choose other titles. What is this? I saw two that showed the full length movie time (801 and 40). When I clicked on play, it played the movie with the audio, in both examples.
When I tried disabling the codecs, the selected "choose other titles" was set to 801. I'm trying again, with just the other alternative (40). Don't know what this means, and I'm definitely not understanding if this makes a difference or not. I'll post later, since this whole process takes several hours. Thanks for the suggestion. If you have additional suggestions, I'm all ears.

Just to clarify:
when you play your original 4KUHD disc, everything works correctly (the main audio track plays fine)?

when you are ripping/processing it:
you are in DVDFab - running "UHD to Blu-Ray". You've loaded up your source disc and the program has scanned it and is displaying the dialog box for "UHD to Blu-Ray". At the bottom of the dialog box, there should be drop down boxes. The right most one is for you to select which subtitles you want.
2nd to the right is the audio stream selection. When you click on the audio stream selection box, what do you see in the drop-down? Is the audio selection you need checked? And what audio codec is it?

Found something interesting. I mentioned above that I had tried Logan. I tried playing this in my 4k player. The video plays fine, as expected. But, when I went into the options settings (where I can turn on things like closed captions), I scrolled through the audio choices. Here's what I found:
1 ENG is silent
2 ENG plays the audio!
3 ENG is the narration of the movie
4 ENG is the director narrating the movie

There were 4 choices for audio. 2 ENG shows DTS HD MA. All the others just show Dolby Audio, Main channel.

When I tried the disc in my Blu-Ray player, once again, I could see 4 options for audio. But, 1 and 2 ENG were both silent. The other 2 followed the pattern (narration, director talking).

But, I was able to get the audio in 2 ENG just fine. The 4K player is a simple LG that I bought several years ago. Don't know if it has anything to do with it.

Also, there were 4 options for choosing audio with Logan. Only 3 with Sonic.

Is any of this relevant?

All I know is that Logan will play both video and audio when I choose 2 ENG, and that's a move in the right direction. I did not change the codec to software when I did the conversion on Logan.

before you burned the disc, did you play back the file on your computer to verify the main audio is present and working ??

I right clicked on the ISO file, opened it with a VLC player, and the audio is there. Interesting. What's my next move?

If you have now verified the audio is there - it is time to analyze the audio playback capabilities of the devices/systems you are using to play it back.
What is the audio codec of the audio track you want?
Are you trying to play it back via a receiver? Directly to your tv? What we are looking for is whether the audio codec in track #1 can be handled by the devices you are connecting to.

This is where I will need some help. The devices I'm using to play the videos are either blu-ray player, or 4k player. Both connected directly to a 4k tv. An unconverted 4k or blu-ray disc works in the 4k. Only blu-ray in the other player. I suppose since they are playable on these devices, they should be suited for audio playback? I'm not very tech savvy, so I could use help.

Can you point me to where I have to look for this codec?

will either the blu-ray player, 4k player or the 4k tv play videos from a USB flash drive ??
if yes, then put the movie on a USB flash drive and see if the movie will play.

I assumed the above mentioned m2ts was the video, so I copied it to a USB drive.

The blu-ray player (Panasonic DMP-BD60). Yes, it’s older. It has a USB port, but when I inserted it, it said it was incompatible. It’s probably because all the USB drives I own, that are larger, are 3.0. I’ve got smaller 2.0 drives, but none big enough to hold the file. Just figures….

The blu-ray player also has an SD card slot. But, it can only handle FAT32 format. Of course, the file is too large for the card. It won't accept eFAT or NTFS formats.

The 4k player recognized the drive, and the video played, but there was no audio. I checked the “options” on the player and it showed the TrueHD Audio, but none of the others.

The 4k tv (Roku tv) played through the USB port, but the only option for audio was the track that had the narration on it.

When I use Media Player, that m2ts will only play the narration audio track or the director audio. There is no other audio.

It’s only on the VLC player, do I hear the audio from the actual movie. What is it about the VLC player that allows me to hear the audio, but not with any other players?

I even tried PowerDirector 17. I could see the video, but there was no audio.
