YouTube is not downloading anymore. Does anyone know how to fix?

Not happy about that at all.

The macOS version might need more testing due to some changes in the latest version of macOS that just came out as well. Dunno.

6261 is NOT working at all, in my experience. It just sits there “analyzing” forever. No progress, no error message, no time out – just analyzing for hours. I literally stopped one attempt after half an hour without anything but analyzing forever.

6261 gets through analyzing for me but only shows H264 as available. I used to also get VP9 and sometimes AV1 as selections.

It may depend on the video. I tried a few logged into YouTube and all gave me only h264.
I logged out of YouTube via streamfab and tried again and got av1, vp9 and h264.

I also can get av1 via yt-dlp when available.
Not sure why some downloaders even logged out only give h264.
Might be because some may have issues using av1.

OK, so I have seen that you folks have been able to download things, so I have been investigating further. And while some videos HAVE worked – they have downloaded properly – others just sit there “analyzing forever.” To begin with, I just tried a small video that was posted today, and it didn’t work – and I gave up. But after trying quite a few over the course of some time, I think I have figured out “what’s not working” – and it’s “newer videos.” Videos posted today, perhaps yesterday, or something like that. Videos that were posted “a few days ago” are downloading properly.

So, I presume there’s some sense that “the resolutions you’re looking for haven’t been propagated yet.” And thus the program simply isn’t finding what it’s looking for. At any rate, this is what I can add to the discussion at this point. Thanks to everyone who has been involved in this discussion!

So there is nothing SF could do to speed up the recoding from YT to VP9 or AV1

Germania Hmmm. “News to me.” I have been downloading at least a handful of files pretty much every day for years, with SF and another program, and often “minutes after they’ve been posted” – plenty “within an hour or so” – without problems. Not that any of this is any big problem, as “I can wait” just as well as anyone can. But it’s definitely a situation that I haven’t experienced before – for whatever reasons. But to be clear, it’s not like I’m using a program that scours YT looking for new videos – I’m just seeing things in my notifications, and then downloading them. “For whatever any of this may be worth.” Thanks for your help!

One problem I’m encountering now is that it can’t analyze VP9, so there’s no option to download 4K, and the highest resolution available is only 1080P.

I’ve logged into my account and I’m a YouTube Premium member, but I still can’t analyze it, and the subtitles can’t remux into file.

Additional note: When I’m not logged in and can play the video directly, I can analyze details like VP9 and download in 4K, but once I log in to my account, it stops working.

Correct, but SF can’t do that at the moment

btw: DRM-free downloads can also fail at any time ..
.. because yt-dlp offer only a temporary workaround
