Wilson posted an anniversary message on Reddit the other day — did the whole sentimental thing about how StreamFab started from a forum request, how he keep buying sloth plushies for his daughter, the works. We marketing team was proud of his expression, ahh. 😄
But in official forum space, I saw many users come to tell us what’s broken and get replies from Wilson directly or from our Contact Mona directly. I scroll through here see you are asking “Wilson are you even reading this” I know the vibe. I live in this vibe.
So for the anniversary post here, I’m skipping the sentimental stuff. Instead I want to talk about something I don’t think we say often enough:

Not metaphorically. Not “we value your feedback” corporate nonsense. I mean your specific posts, your specific logs, your specific screenshots — they directly become items on our sprint board.

### How your reports become fixes — a few recent examples
1. Spider-Noir: Black & White vs. Color
@Valent1’s thread — 123 replies. Amazon released Spider-Noir with two versions, and StreamFab couldn’t tell them apart. Only Episode 1 would download.
What made this fixable fast wasn’t the reply count — it was the quality. Multiple users independently confirmed the same encryption key error pattern, narrowed it down to multi-version titles, and ruled out account-specific issues before we even looked at it. By the time our engineers opened the thread, half the diagnosis was already done. Fix shipped in v7.0.2.9.

2. Discovery+ Audio Description Track
@Duane4869’s thread — 54 replies over an entire month.
Starting from Episode 12 of Gold Rush Season 16, StreamFab was grabbing the Audio Description track instead of the normal English audio. Imagine downloading a whole season and realizing half of it has someone narrating what’s happening on screen instead of the actual dialogue.
Duane didn’t just report it and leave. He came back with logs. Then more logs. Then MediaInfo exports. Then screenshots of the MPD manifest. For a month. 0xFeedBeef finally nailed it and we shipped the fix in v7.0.2.9.
That kind of persistence is something no QA team on earth can replace. Duane, if you’re reading this — thank you.

3. Paramount+ ERROR 54113
This thread — 47 replies, 16 users, multiple countries — all hitting the same login wall after the 7.0.3.0 update. What helped us most was that users like Germania and simchris tested across different network conditions and VPN setups, which ruled out regional blocking and pointed us straight to the authentication flow. Fix shipped in v7.0.3.1.

4. Disney+ Dolby Vision + HDR10+ Hybrid Downloads
This one wasn’t a bug. It was @Ragnarocek asking for something new.
HBO already supported hybrid DV/HDR10+ downloads in StreamFab, but Disney+ didn’t. Ragnarocek made the case, showed exactly which titles had hybrid streams available, and explained why it mattered.
Wilson sent a test build on June 6th. Ragnarocek tested 2160p, 1440p, and 1080p — all worked. Shipped in v7.0.3.1 on June 12th. One month from “can you do this?” to “it’s live.”

What actually happens when you post a bug report

I know it can feel like you’re shouting into the void sometimes. So here’s what happens on our side:
Every week, the engineering team pulls from a forum-driven priority list. Threads with more users confirming the issue get escalated faster. Threads with logs and MediaInfo attached get diagnosed faster. That’s just the reality — the more detail you give us, the faster we move.
It’s not a perfect system. Some of you have been waiting months on issues in the Open Problem Reports tracker. We are not going to pretend everything gets fixed overnight. But I can tell you that your feedbacks are precious for us and for StreamFab.

Celebrate Year 8 and Step Forward to Year 9

Eight years is a long time for any software to survive. Tools like ours don’t exactly have an easy road. RedFox didn’t make it. Others came and went. We’re still here — not because we’re smarter or luckier, but because you guys stuck around, reported every broken thing, and kept pushing us to be better. That’s the only reason StreamFab gets to celebrate a birthday at all.

So — thank you. For eight years of showing up.

Now I’m curious. I know most of you through your bug reports, but I don’t actually know your stories. When did you first start using StreamFab? Do you even remember why? Was it a specific show you wanted to keep? A platform that killed offline downloads? A friend who told you about it?

If you feel like sharing — here or on our Reddit — I’d genuinely like to hear how you found us. What is your favorite feature ? What made you stay.

I just ask you to keep track of the problems and try your best to fix them, as it is very frustrating if something is reported for over a month.
Streamfab can be a great tool, but when something doesn’t work or doesn’t work right, it sometimes feels like Streamfab looks past the problem reports.
Streamfab will always be remembered for the program that brought 4K downloads to users.

It’s just sad that most stream providers charge more for the 4K. But StreamFab can’t control that.

Stan001 Fair point, and I hear you. I won’t sugarcoat that. We are trying to enhance the fixing efficiency. It is not perfect, our team is trying to improve. We’ve been restructuring how bug reports flow from the forum to the dev team. Wilson is always here, sometimes he did not post a reply, but he browse the fourm everyday. Stan, Thank you for your understanding and support of StreamFab. We may not be at our “best” yet, but we are constantly striving to become “better.”

I’m an old customer. I purchased StreamFab for many years ago before it even was called StreamFab. Many things you do are very good, and should be praised. 👍

But some things that are bad must also be mentioned. I think especially regarding the extensions and Coapps. If you read this thread https://forum.dvdfab.cn/d/472250-netflix-browser-downloader you understand what I mean.

For every new extension announced in the forum it says:

We sincerely invite you to try the extension and share your experience with us.

But it seems you don’t care so much about these new products. You just release them but then don’t fix the problems. You must start prioritize them much more and also answer when you get questions and suggestions about it.

I also helped much regarding this audio problem with Discovery+, but wasn’t mentioned in your post. I asked a question to @Duane4869 at 4 May in that thread. But he never replied to my question and never wrote anything more at all in that thread.

The anniversary post only picked a handful of examples to keep it readable, but that was never meant to be a complete list. Your contributions go way beyond what we mentioned. The Discovery+ audio description thread is a perfect example — you tested the download from your own region, dug into the logs, identified the duplicate “Engelska - Original” tracks, AND walked Duane through finding his log files. That’s not just “helping out,” that’s doing our QA team’s job for free. The fix in 7.0.2.9 happened faster because of your groundwork.

You’ve been doing this kind of thing for a long time, and honestly we should be better at recognizing it publicly 🥺 My post content is limited, but your contribution is limitless

Yes, a lot of stuff comes from the Forum. And 8 years, hard to believe.
One of the top items we see posted though that is still not a reality of course is force analyzing individual TV episodes of their seasons on the various streamers.
With Peacock and Disney+ we can use the Continue Watching function as a work around, and NF has a few ways to do it too. Not so much with AMZ. If not implementing an individual analysis for AMZ, can we at least get it to work with the Continue Watching function?

I see it says @Yuki_RecordFab haven’t been logged in for 13 days, so maybe he’s on vacation. And @Wilson.Wang never reply on anything I write. Can you please tell the developers about the problem with Netflix Coapp? And now also even more important that a new version of Disney+ Coapp is needed after the changes Disney made so analyse and download completely stopped working.

You fixed the problem in SF 7.0.3.3, but when using extension/Coapp the error of course is still present because no new version of Disney+ Coapp have been released yet.

Please tell the developers to fix that as soon as possible. It’s very important, because at the moment it’s not possible to download at all from Disney+ when using extension/Coapp.

Erika Thanks for new version of Disney+ extension and Coapp today. Now it’s working fine to download again. 🙂

Unfortunately I have bad news too. New D+ Coapp 1.0.0.2 have got the same problem as Netflix Coapp 1.0.0.2. It’s regarding subtitles. I always use the option “Extract to SRT File”. But both Coapps mux srt into mp4 instead of extract it as a separate srt file. Now after download I must always extract it myself manually to get a separate file.

So I hope you can make another new release of D+ Coapp that fixes that subtitle problem. And also that a new Netflix Coapp will be released soon too.

Can I just ask again regarding HBO Max and Apple TV? Now you have released extensions for 10 services, but still not HBO or Apple. Also SkyShowtime for me in Sweden and Paramount+ for users in US/UK/Germany I think should have much higher priority to release as extensions. Do you have any information about if they will be released soon?
