DVDFab Users;
We have improved the metadata feature in the new DVDFab version, it supports gathering data in Copy, Ripper and Converter modules.
With the new metadata, DVDFab will output the file with the correct information and also output to a nfo file (Including the correct movie name, released date, description, genre, poster and background etc.), so that your media server DVDFab Movie Server, Kodi, Plex and EMBY will read the nfo file and show the correct movie/TV show information for you.
Why we need the correct metadata?
As we know, the output file name is based on the disc volume name or movie name for now in DVDFab, but, sometimes, the correct movie name of teh t itle is not in the Volume name, and the volume name is incorrect for some of discs. The result is that DVDFab may output the video with the incorrect file name include the title number, until you correct it manually. Now, it becomes easy to correct the information with the new metadata. See details below.
How does it work in DVDFab?
DVDFab will load the metadata from server after opening the disc. DVDFab will load the correct information (Cover, correct movie/TV Show name, description etc.) for the movie or TV show if someone has previously uploaded the metadata for your disc.
If the data is not on the server, we hope you will upload it!
So, help us, help you and other users to upload the metadata.
Can anyone use the metadata feature?
Yes, all the users can freely use the metadata, however, to upload the metadata for the DVD/Blu-ray/UHD discs, the user still needs to login to DVDFab with your DVDFab account (it’s OK to use the DVDFab free account).
How do I upload the metadata for the disc?
1. Open the disc or files in the Copy, Ripper or Converter module.
2. Click the new “Search Movie/TV Show” button as shown below.

5. DVDFab will load the movie information from server if it is available and update the information for the disc.

For TV Shows, we still need to enter the Episode for the title, and it will also get the correct episode name after you enter the correct episode number.
