    hang before splash screen

    I was still running on version 8 and just downloaded and installed 9 1 3 6. I am running on Virtual PC XP Mode but I also tried this on a separate pc with a native copy of Windows XP and the symptoms is when I run it, it never displays the splash screen and task manager shows it as not responding. Here is what is in the dvdfab_internal.log file. I have tried yet another XP machine and it runs fine. Any guidance would be appreciated.

      I applied the patch, rebooted just for good measure, but still it hangs before I see the splash screen. Here is my internal log just in case

        Please follow these steps:
        1. Uninstall DVDfab first.
        2. Reinstall DVDFab V9136.
        3. Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\xxx\application Data\DVDFab9".
        4. Edit the config .xml file with TXT or Notepad.
        5. Search "PreviewDirectShow" and set to "1" manually.
        6. Start DVDFab.

          Ok, I have tried this suggestion but I still have the same symptom. Is there any other data I could provide which might be helpful to isolate what is happening?

              I updated to the 9.1.3.8 release. The symptom is still the same, I never get to see the splash screen. This time when I right clicked to kill this (in the lower bar showing running apps) it displayed the DVDFab app screen, although it was non-responsive to mouse clicks. Task manager showed it running but it wasn't doing screen updates. I looked in the internal log and now there is more data. Hopefully this additional data will point to the cause of the problem.

                Try a clean uninstall. Uninstall the run CCleaner on the registry until no errors are found, no need to save between scans. May take more than one scan then reinstall and give it a go. Free version of CCleaner

                    I am sort of having the same problem. As soon as the DVD Fab splash screen comes up it says it is accessing the server and it just hangs and becomes non-responsive. What is going on and what is the fix?
