DVD to .mov, how?

Is there a way to convert DVD or segments to the codecs of Quicktime installed in my machine. I cannot figure how to do it. I also search links in the forum and nada! It seems that we are stuck with pre-selected codecs. Am I wrong?

You cannot use codecs outside of Fab as they are built internally but to play with Quicktime, use one of the iPad/iPhone/Apple TV profiles and then you can adjust the parameters within.
