I am having the same problem installing the QT dvdfab programs on my XP machine. SP3 updated drivers and all updates for xp. When I go to install any QT program it goes all the way to the end then stops. If I goto system processes and stop the dvdfab.exe it will finish installing. When I try to run the QT program the dvdfab.exe comes on in processes and nothing else happens. 8092qt, 8097qt, and 8098qt all respond the same to install and run. Also I cannot uninstall them at all. Hopefully someone can figure the fix for XP and dvdfab compatability problems. I am currrently running fine on 8085. No probs there. Thanks for any advice.

8097qt worked for me
I had not been able to get any of the QT versions to do a successful blu-ray copy on my XPpro, SP3 machine. I am very happy to report that the last version I used, 8097qt, worked. Just wanted to share with the builder that this version appears to have solved my issues with QT.

We are all adults here, so if you do not plan to support XP, tell us. I do plan to build a new Windows 7 based system later this year since I realize my current sysytem is nearing its technological end, but since you advertise XP support and since I paid darn good $$$ for this software, I do expect you to address this.

If so........
I do not work for DVDFab.
It is not my software.
I do not develop / repair / fix or have anything else to do with the writing or selling of the software.
I use Win XP Pro Sp 3 and do not have a problem with the QT versions.
When I post that a new version has been released I do not care if you try it or not. That is your choice . I am simply posting that there is a new version available.

Hi all,
Here is a post from versions ago that a member had problems going from version 7 to 8.
NOTE: This is not for everyone, if you are not comfortable going into you registry, by all means do not do it.
You take full responsibility for any changes that you make to your computer.
This is what they said.
I recently had an issue after upgrading from version 7 to version 8 where DVDFab would not start at all. After some messing around with trying to install with anti virus off and multiple uninstalls and reinstalls of previous versions, I decided to check within the registry. Now, for those not comfortable messing with registry settings, I would advise you ask a computer tech, who is, to do the following changes. To enter the registry go to the start menu and select run, from there type regedit. This will open up the registry. You are going to want to be in HKEY_CURRENT_USER then go into Software. Once in Software, find DVDFab and check the Path in the window on the right. It should show something like this C:\Program Files\DVDFab #\DVDFab.exe where DVDFab # is whatever current version you have installed. Mine was showing DVDFab 7 so when I would click on the desktop icon, quick launch or even the .exe within the DVDFab folder, it was looking for version 7 and would not launch 8. Hope this is a help to anyone that is having issues with DVDFab opening.
The only thing I see different in their post is that there is no DVDFab.exe, I think you will be looking at the DVDFab application file.
Here is something else to try for those of you trying the capability.
Go into properties of the icon under compatibility, uncheck all but check turn off text services and check disable visual themes and give it a try.
Hope this may help you.
CBR929Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.

I had to go and do a clean install of Windows XP pro and loaded SP3 then my video Nivida drivers and then installed DVDFab QT and now it works. I guess they will not find a fix as Windows XP will soon be fazed out and 7 will be the basic OS for now. What is strange I use this system as a stand alone for DVFAb only and had prior versions going way back so it must have something to do with the newer version not running. Like I said a clean install solved the problem. Lots of work if you have lots of programs on your system but mind was a stand alone for DVDFab and got it all back within an hour.
What I really would like to know is the formal support process for this software. I have paid for this software, so I believe I am entitled to some rudimentary support. If this support is forum based only, I am using the correct protocol? I run my own business, so I realize that not many resources will be placed on XP product development for what is arguably a retired OS, but since DVDFab still advertises XP compatibility, I am looking for some developer support. I have asked previously if my (forum) question should be posted somewhere else or if there should be a unique "sticky" thread to track this issue. I suspect most purchasers are Win7 based, hence the lack of a large affected population base. Very perplexing, indeed, since all the "pre" QT versions worked GREAT. Still open for suggestions, but I do realistically understand my OS platform is in the minority - development cycles wise.

Hi all,I'm having the same problem with XP SP3 DvdFab not starting up,Ati video, all latest drivers etc.Using DvdFab 8.0.9.8 qt,Mine will start like every 3 times I click on the icon and work ok from there. The first time I click on it to start,I get a message Dvdfab has encountered a problem and needs to close.I try it 2-3 times more and it will eventually start and work.I hope future update's work better than this.At least I can get it to work, after 2-3 times? Weird Xp Sp3 Problem. No one else seems to be having this problem,Hope they can fix it.
