VSO burning engine is licensed from VSO company, DVDFab burning engine is developed by ourself.

For now, VSO burning engine is still the default choice, but DVDFab burning engine is very stable and ready to use.

You can try VSO in latest beta to see the result, it should fix the BSOD problem.

    All all,

Please try DVDFab v8179 Beta to see the result:

This build updated the VSO engine which should fix the BSOD problem.

Note: this is a special build only for "BSOD" problem, don't download it for upgrade.

    Thanks.

i tried to uninstall and delete the dl folder, then reboot. I then downloaded the latest version and still get the same error.

In the dvdfab install folder, right click unins000.exe, then click "run as administrator", hope this works.

I'm sure someone who actually knows something will come on to advise, but in the meantime...

I'm pretty sure I've had that warning before in the past, but I haven't a clue how I moved beyond it.

What I would do is delete the download file from the download folder, then I'd reboot my computer and try again.

Good luck! This stuff can be so frustrating, but once it works, it's awesome.

UPDATE: I downloaded v8.1.7.8 and found that it also has the option in DVD/Write to change to DVDFab Burning Engine. I was under the impression that only v8.1.7.2 would work. My next backup I will try the latest version.

I was able to successfully download v8.1.7.2 and I made a copy of a disc. I'm so pleased that I didn't get the BSOD screen!

For those having trouble, if you haven't already, double/triple check that you are using v8.1.7.2. When I was installing the program, I changed the folder name and program name so that I would be able to immediately tell the difference. As soon as I opened 8.1.7.2, it immediately began to look for an update and started to download that as well.

I'm not sure if I can post a link, but here's the link to the forum where 8.1.7.2 is announced at DVDFab:

    Hi rice8702:
Would you please post the screenshot of Welcome dialog to me, or mail me alone.
I think some components are expired for your DVDfab.

    Thanks,
    Potti
