Should I continue to use software decoding or are there better options available with my graphics card?

If you had a good card that supported Cuda I would say you could use that to help in the process, so you are better off using Software options.

Your card is a solid card. You can enable ATi Stream if you like. Sadly, it is not nearly as optimized as CUDA is so you won't see nearly the boost in performance. But there will be some. You will need the latest drivers AND the latest AMD Media Codec Package. The 2 HAVE to match version numbers in order to get the media package to work.Comment
