ELEVEN MINUTES to load

Every time I start this program;it takes 11 minutes, read ELEVEN MINUTES to load. I have an Intel 920 @ 2.8 GHZ, 24 gig of ram, and a NVidia GTS 250 video card. My internet connection is lightning fast, and nothing about this computer causes me a problem with ANY other program. It never used to be that way, until a brainchild changed something in the “9” series.

Please help.

Mine starts fast and I have much less of a computer.When was the last you defragged the hard drive,cleaned up all the old files including pre fetch and cleaned the registry?

Their are free programs to do this cc cleaner and defraggler or use the built in windows defragger.

Have you checked your disk for error's and bad sectors?

I would take all Fab versions off the computer when it asks you if you want to save settings say no then do all the above and then reinstall Fab.Then reset all Fab program settings and saved profiles.

Yes, I use the reg. cleaners, and anti-spyware stuff all of the time. Honestly, about once a week. I am using a Patriot, (Samsung) solid state drive, which is 256 GB. I tried completely uninstalling Fab, with Revo Uninstaller, and after that, I ran 3-4 reg. cleaners, to get every bit out of there, and that did not change anything. (reinstalled Fab of course)

When it was the, “8” series, it would get a bit buggy, but would come up in maybe 1-2 mins. I thought that was normal. At one point, after installing the 9 series at first, after the huge delay, I took all of THAT one out, then I reinstalled the 8 series, and THAT did the exact same thing, being an 11 minute load time. you can set your watch by it almost. – To be clear, by that I mean as soon as I click on it, the first small screen comes up, but it is almost exactly 11 mins. until the rest of the program loads, with the starting choices such as Rip, Copy, Burn etc.

I thought I read here that after the 8 series, starting with 9, they made it so the program has to log in to the Fab website for proof of ownership?
I just burnt a copy of a less than 25 GB Blu-Ray, and it worked just fine, AFTER that load time.

I should mention that I'm running Win 7 Professional, with 64 & 32 bit, and Media Center built in.
O.K. I got the hint about the log files. So, I erased all the logs, and then opened it again, and that is ALL I did, so these logs are just about it opening up, without me doing anything:

What engine do you have selected in the settings? Try to set it to something else to see if that changes the load time.

Have you tried setting the A/V codecs to software? You are really not gaining anything with that graphics card anyway. Might speed things up by not trying to set it up on start up.

Is there anything else on your network which may be interfering with the connection from your system when you tried to run DVDFab such as someone doing some online gaming, a game console downloading an update or a new title, or possibly someone streaming internet video at the time such as NetFlix or Hulu or something else which uses high bandwidth such as system updates?

Windows update was Tuesday the 12th, (2:00 EST), so anytime between now and this past Tuesday you can expect any connected systems to be downloading updates unless they are set to manual.

Or could there possibly have been network problems in your area or with your provider?

Are you using a proxie?

Just asking these questions to try and eliminate a few possibilities.

It was the Fab burn engine. Changed to imgburn, and then to VSO.
No difference in loading time.

This has been going on for weeks since I upgraded to the 9 series, so it's nothing to do with Win update.
I'm using a Comcast high speed modem
No problems in my area - modem is fine.
Just went through all the settings.
Not using a proxie.
Nobody on my network, here at home.

Just because everything else works fine it doesn't mean the computer is okay. It could be something as simple as another driver or piece of software is interfering with DVDFab.

Personally I would create a backup image of the system if you don't have one already, do a clean install of Windows and make DVDFab your first install. If this does nothing for you, you can always restore the backup image.

This may seem extreme, but believe me you can waste much more time trouble shooting and getting nowhere.

No,it was about 1 min on 8, then I installed 9, went back to 8 and then it took the same 11 minutes on 8.
