If you stream a movie from the full disk folder and click the stream folder the subtitle button doesn't light up.

Why not download the version of Fab that worked well for you the last version is still their to download.

I don't know why your having this problem other's are using XP and have problems from time to time but not so bad.Are you making sure your taking all the windows updates?
Yes I am opening Power Dvd first and the buttons are still not lightable. I played the DVD in my DVD player on my TV set as well and it wouldn't play on it either without the subtitles. Buttons in my DVD Player hooked my tv were not clickable either to shut off subs.
I don't understand why this new version will not function properly at all. I have never had these kind of issues and I have been using DVDFab for a very long time now years as a matter of fact and I upgraded and bought the program years ago. I have had problems before but minor and were fixable pretty quickly this message board has helped me so much in the past with suggestions to try and I was always able to get it working, but this time I have tried everything I can think of tried all of the suggestions you all gave and still nothing changed at all. Yes I do automatic updates my computer is setup to automatically download all new updates in Windows. I at the end of my rope here with this new version. The version I had prior was the one that was released just before Beta 9118 came out Beta 9118 and 9119 both just came out the 17th of Dec if I am not mistaken, so the version right before these is what I had and it was working perfectly,I got the pop up saying there is a new version 9119 do you want to update now and I hit yes, since then nothing but problems I should have left it alone and waited a bit to make sure all the bugs were worked out of this new version.

Ok lets do a complete clean my way.
Take ALL versions of Fab off your computer using control panel when the program asks if you want to save old settings say no.
Now use cc cleaner it was updated several time as of late so check for latest version.

First clean all junk files then clean registry run a second time see if it's all clear if not keep running it till it's all clear twice normally does it.

Now download little registry cleaner another free program that will clean registry and clean the registry further than cc cleaner.Do the same with it run till theirs no more errors.

Here is one download link for it. http://download.cnet.com/3028-2094_4...&part=fivemill

As with any free program it may want to install other junk always install and say no to any other programs it may want to download don't skip this step ok.

Now reboot your computer now their should be no traces of Fab on your computer.

Go to Fabs front page and get the latest version 9 for your computer.

Download it and install as administrator don't skip any steps here.

Fab will ask you to reboot your computer do this again please.

Now go into Fab and redo the Fab settings the way you want them everything is now set to default so any settings you changed will have to be put back in the program so take a min. and recheck each setting.

If this doesn't cure your problem any older version of fab we can get to you just PM CBR929 he will email them to you so you can go back to a working version for your computer,

Oh Lord, okay I will try all this but not right now would rather be spending time with hubby since he is off for New years, So Friday evening. Shouldn't take to long considering most of this has already been done several times. I do not have any previous versions of Fab in here I always remove them when the new one comes out. I have a paid version of registry cleaner through my internet provider which works very well.I don't have to worry about them trying to get me to download any crap like toolbars or anything in my computer, to much hidden malware in those free downloads. I do not care for free versions much do not trust them to not add crap in my computer.I have a business online and accept credit cards and paypal for my ceramics so I am extremely careful about what I allow to download in my computer. For my safety and my customers safety. I have never had to run my Registry cleaner through more then once, but I will do it twice and see what it tells me.

I still believe this is a XP problem.

Fab has said they will support XP so the last thing I can think to do is send this in to staff .

Explain everything to them or just link to the thread so they can respond.

I really don't think going back to 9117 beta will help from others that have had problems then went back to a older version of Fab but it's worth a try.

Just send a pm with a email address to cbr929 and he will email you Fab version 9117 beta so you can retry it.

Sorry but I am not a expert on anything but tried everything I can think of.

Use clone/burn disk in dvd copy this makes a iso set output to your burner so it will burn the disk as a iso.

You should buy one rewritable disk for testing so you don't waste your blank disks.

Make sure you burn the disk at 1/2 the disks rated speed so if you have 8x disks burn at 4x.

Stick with Fab burning engine or use img burn for the burn.

I believe your install problems are because you use XP as most people don't have the problems you do.

Soon Microsoft stops supporting XP so you need a different OP anyway why not change now.
XP has nothing to do with it and burning at half speed is an old wives tail as I have XP and burn 16X discs at 12X and never have had a problem ever since ver 3.0 to the latest version

Jimbo:Your burning with the best disk brands (Taiyo Yuden & Verbatim +R's Only In My Burners)

A lot of people don't use these and when they do their drives won't burn cheap disks at high speeds with good results or at all that's the main reason for burning at 1/2 the disk rated speed.

Also many people don't know drives firmware needs to be updated to burn newer or different brands of disks.I see some old drives using the 4 year old firmware they came with.

So many people use old firmware and expect good results.Just today I checked someone's firmware he was using old firmware and the new firmware says the updated firmware improves blu ray reading.

If you use img burn it will tell you what speeds the disk can be burnt with sometimes people change these burn speeds to a speed the drive doesn't support for the disk in the drive.

Img burn will also id the disk. Memorex is made by Ritec the brand most have trouble with.

So many company's are buying these cheap disks and putting their names on it these days.

The Tdk disks she used may very well also be made by Ritec putting them in img burn will tell the real company that made the blank disk.

Burning slower burns the pits deeper and clearer into the disk so more drives will see the pits burned clearer without error's.

They are said to last longer also when burning slower.A lot has to do with the quality of the disk and dye.

I also do a lot of Wedding Movie Dvds Photo slideshows etc so been at this for awhile.SO I have always Good Quality Disks. I alternate back and forth with burning, I will sometimes use my Nero Program for burning and some times I use Fabs I checked all firmware is up to date.

Ran this Tool and Found nothing wrong, I opened up detailed report and Green check marks all the way down the list. Found nothing to fix or repair.
SO all I can assume is it is Not in My computer or My burner,so it has to be a glitch in the update. I emailed Tech support waiting for a reply.

There are thousands of us not experiencing your perceived glitch. Uninstall DVDFab then download Ccleaner free version and run it on the registry until no errors are found during a scan. Then download the latest version here: right click on the installer and run as administrator, give it a go.

Beckyw: I believe this is a good time to have your computer time travel back in time to where everything worked as it did before you started having trouble.

Bill Gates has installed this time travel program in it's software for times like this. The name of the program is system restore it uses restore points dated so you can restore your computer to a date where everything worked fine.

The disadvantage to using this is you have to update all your programs from the restore date to present if you stay back in time so if you installed any new software from the restore date till present you will have to reinstall them and any other files that you made after the restore date to present. You will need one of the later versions of Fab with the red 2 fix to copy it though so your going to check and see what version of Fab you have when you go back in time and see the release notes on what version started the fix for that movie.

Look at your first post that will give you a idea when you started having trouble then reset from a restore date just before the trouble date. This will make your computer work as it did before you will have the old version of Fab back and can try to copy the disk after the restore. You can come back to present day or try to stay back in time and update your files and programs.

You may want try to download the newest Fab version again and see what happens. You can always come back to today with everything as it is today. You can go back and forth many times if you want to try different restore points. You can go back in time just to use Fab to make this one disk if the old version has the fix for this movie then come back to today without updating anything but maybe Norton for security reasons.

Sometimes files get corrupted or deleted from the registry that you need this will bring them back.

Go to control panel>system backup and restore>system restore.
This program is safe and you can restore back to todays date.Create a restore point before you go to bring you back to the time you left.
