Came home did disc Info and got manufacturer-CMC Magnetics Corp., media Id:CMCMAG.AM3 is this manufacturer as good as Mitsubishi Corp.? My PLEXTOR Burner suggest Verbatim-Mitsubishi Corp.! Is all verbatim good as long as there from singapore! Or should you watch for fakes?, and if so how do you tell? PLEASE HELP ME, thank you very much!!

Well, Sam's Club is a Walmart... Enough said?
I consider Verbs DVD+R DL MIS in Sam's is a miracle, most likely due to the fact that this media is old, to say at least. But hey, it's one of the best out there, and I love it!!!!

Yes, I got verb's dvd+r DL 50 packs, 2 the other day! Great deal, but do you think I'll be okay with the CMC Magnetics Corp!, Kinda of relaying on your expertise, still new to all this! Will soon be jumping off into the blu-ray to blu-ray world!!

Well I didn't think there were CMC Magnetics Verbatims but I just looked on videohelp and apparently theres a few of them. I would also like to know if these discs are of lower quality than the MCC, MKM type discs.

Just looked on dvdfab's website and searched buring problems and went to media post and found ratings on media by manufacturer and media ID, found CMC corp. and media CMCMAG.AM3 to have the best all around ratings from all the listing of media and manufacturers on that link! I fell much better!!

Geez guys, I wish to be more helpful...
            I'm in BR ->Hard Drive ->Mediaplayer world
I do have pack of Sony DVD+Rs from Costco. I got them because they are printable and good for family activities memorabilia. I had no problem with this media.

If you are buying verbatim 4.7g-16x dvd-r they should be made in Taiwan not singapore if you buy DL verbatim they should ONLY be made in Singapore.

not my website as I just volunteer to help with forum like all the other staff here also CMC is not good media as it same as memorex, TDK, maxell, Staples, Office Depot, imation and others that I am not able to think of. Now if you want the best then check out Taiyo Yuden with a MID of YUDEN000-T02-00 these are DVD+R 8X media and the best available for purchase but only available online and not cheap either. They can be found at blankmedia.ca, blankdvdmedia.com, supermediastore and others but these are the ones that I can remember at the moment as well

Also the website might rank them highly because almost every blank media manufacturer uses that media ID but from burning enough media you find out it not so good due to all the coasters that you will make. Verbatim Made in Taiwan is good as I have them but do not use them at all, they collect dust as I only use my Taiyo Yuden that I mentioned already as I have never got a coaster with them in about 3+ years of using them

                    Agj

thanks so very much again, If they say there made in tiewan, should they be good, or you just really don't know! Is there any sure way of knowing!, but I'm taking your advise very serious! I worte down the info., for Taiyo Yuden, mid- YUDEN000-T02-00, and when you said "coasters" are you meaning bad burns or something else!

Couldn't agree more with my partners here, IPopov50 and AGJ.
I've never heard of the -R verbatim brand being manufactured in Singapore, but in Taiwan?...you bet.
Like IPopov50, I'm getting away from burning bkups and much more involved with archiving ---> hdd ---> media players.
                      So, I dunno.

Having said that, the MKM 001 media (Verb +R DL, MIS) at Sam's is absolutely the real deal and a steal.

Like AGJ, the only SL media I use is YUDEN000 T02 00.
And you're correct, when he said coasters he essentially means bad burns, but the term coasters, covers it all...user errors, etc...anything that turns your disc into something useless...

Now about the CMC verbs...I think Racem22 is probably right to question how good these are, but I also think they're probably pretty decent, but are
                      they as reliable as MCC?

You guys seem to be having good luck with them.
Maybe you want to spend the time, do some testing/quality scans with nero cd-dvd speed and compare.
(Nero no longer makes this available as freeware, but you can find it online at places like afterdawn))

....or you could just go with the TY's...
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Ok I have a few packs of Verbatims here and I was looking at where they were all made. My DVD+R DLs are Singapore. My lightscribe DVD+Rs I can't tell because they're open and I ripped off the plastic already unless it says it somewhere else but not seeing it. Then I looked at the 100-pack of DVD+R regular tops and these are made in the United Arab Emirates! Has anyone ever seen these before and are they bad or good? Thanks guys.
