Old customers are in a great disadvantage

Bluray to Mobile was $60.50 and is now raised to $105.60 - that's actually $45.10 more or approx. 75% increase and is far from slight increase as announced on the Blog and Admin notice.

Well, I purchased Bluray to Bluray (now Bluray Copy) few days after it was released. Therefore I cannot benefit from the "Package Deals", obviously...

That's valid only for the future customers.

As an old customer of DVDFab Platinum v3 and early supporter of Bluray to Bluray/Bluray Copy, I am now punished and penalized, and treated very unfairly.
I've chosen to support the development of a good software from this company as early as it was available and possible, only to be "rewarded" with 75% (with or without discount - the number is the same) price jump for the Bluray Ripper. And way back in mid March it was available as a separate option - see .

I was discouraged to buy Bluray to Mobile option for the reason mentioned at the end of post.
Now, the future customers are at a great advantage when it comes to pricing by using "Package Deals" and Fengtao Inc. is punishing its old, loyal customers. It is a very unfair, bad and surely unwise policy.

I had to upgrade my PC to turn it into a burning PC and HTPC. Recovering from that expense, I was planning to buy Bluray to Mobile (as the key can now be obtained without passing through the email). But now the Bluray Ripper is simply over my humble and small budget.

I would like to read some official and clear statement from fengtao regarding this "Member" registering rather than experimenting with purchasing and ending up paying unfairly high full price.

You know, it's quite upsetting and frustrating when you trust someone and give a clear appreciation but get something like this in return.

I urge Fengtao Inc. to reconsider pricing policy for old customers like me, owning only one half of the "Package Deal". That would really show the company in a good light.

Unlike some others who would pay a double price for any product (even free), I do not come from a stable, "normal" and wealthy country, unfortunately.

    Regards.

Not sure about the DVDFab DVD Copy or the DVDFab DVD Ripper as I had Lifetime for DVDFab Platinum and paid for that back when it was Version 3.

I was reading this thread, and was very happy that I paid for pretty much everything as a lifetime subscription,, but then went to the website, and looked, and while it looks like quite a jump, it really isn't, compared to a few months ago. Well, using the 20% off, it isn't.

I can say I don't mind the increase. I bought my blu ray to bluray in March for 2 years. It has only went up by 7.55 since then.
People need to realize that competitive software lacks in almost all other areas. My main thing is ease of use, constant betas, updates, tweaks, and the best part for me is the forum. The mods are very helpful and all over the world. That makes it worth this price. I have 2 other software which I paid for and don't use ever and their forums really stink.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Cheers!

Previous price for all options with Lifetime subscription was $305.60 before the discount. Now just the two packages (DVD Copy + DVD Ripper & Blu-ray Copy + Blu-ray Ripper) are 304.20. If you add Video Converter and File transfer to have all options the total is 383.20. As you can see the increase is $77.60 that seems too great of an increase to me. Maybe if Fengtao offered a package that bundled all options it might be a better deal.

I think this is due to the higher standalone price of the Rippers. It should be corrected for current registered users by the new pricing mentioned elsewhere. There may be some other options offered also, the website is still new.

There will be special pricing for current "Copy" registered users who want to add the corresponding "Ripper". You will need to register on the new website by clicking on the "Member" link in the small black banner near the top of the homepage. I do not know if it is available yet and I can't test it because I am registered for everything. Likewise I have no information on what the exact price will be. Please register and try it periodically, bearing in mind that it is around 2AM in Beijing as this is written, so it may not appear until tomorrow morning Beijing time (could be longer if there are complications getting it running).

It was never the intent to penalize existing users who want to add the Ripper to DVD or Blu-ray Copy. Especially in the case of DVD Ripper, this is a fairly small subset of all users (most have lifetime for both already because it was sold that way for so long) and it was regrettably overlooked.

Then they shouldn't penalize existing customers for already owning their products. If anything, they should offer competitive upgrades to existing customers of DVD to DVD or BluRay to DVD to their new product line. For those of us that already own DVD to DVD, there is absolutely no incentive for us to purchase another product from DVDFab with the inflated pricing structure.

Now that you made it evident that people will no longer need to purchase both (which sounds like a smart move for marketing), DVDFab should do something for those that are still within their maintenance windows. The way this is being presented just really smacks of poor planning, and even worse customer notification judging by what I am reading on other similar threads. There are even beta users / testers that weren't aware that 8.x was being deployed.

    Order General Total: 46.08 USD

    ------
    Product reference: XXXXX
Product name: DVDFab "DVD to DVD"
    Quantity: 1
    Price/unit: 57.60 USD
    Taxes (VAT): 0.00 USD
    Discount: 11.52 USD
    Promotion name: 6/21 - 6/27
    Total: 46.08 USD

I posted my receipt here just to supply an example. As you can see, I very recently purchase the licensed copy - whereas I had been using the version that was free just to rip my DVD's. Being as how I enjoyed the product, I purchased a copy for myself wanting to support a company that was creating (and maintaining) a good product. Based on what you are saying, even though I have only owned a licensed copy of this software for less than two months, I should purchase a new bundle so I can take advantage of the discounted price that I should have gotten anyways previously? Do you see where you guys might want to get a bit more creative on your pricing structure?

I'll not dispute the fact that these are good products, but do they really think they are *that* good? There are a number of open source / free products out there that do the job just as well, but they just aren't as "pretty". Now I have to think twice if I really want to shell out this kind of money or just go through the extra few steps required with the open source products. Sorry for the rant... just a bit frustrated and really not excited about paying the exorbitant prices they are now asking.

It's nothing to do with picture quality and everybody knows that

Price for any product is as high as the users wanna pay for it.

I can compare, because I use other companies products too, but I will not name them, because I am fair with policy of this Forum.

...but I may tell you that there is no MainMovieOnly from Blu-Ray that is working as good as DVDFab Blu-Ray Copy

    Best regards.

    Sincerely
