MusicFab on macOS – Ongoing Issues for Over 8 Months, Still No Resolution

    Hello *,
Since November 2024, I have been experiencing a persistent issue with MusicFab on macOS that renders the software effectively unusable. Despite numerous support requests and detailed logs, the problem has not been addressed in any meaningful way.

The core issue revolves around recurring Chrome/Edge-related errors in the application, such as:
    • "Edge is not supported"
    • Repeating “Control: close error” messages in the logs
    • Application failing after one successful download unless cache is manually deleted

Over the past 8+ months, I have:
    • Installed every new version, including the latest one (e.g., musicfab_for_mac_1054.dmg)
    • Performed multiple clean installs, using tools like AppCleaner to remove all residual files
    • Tested the software on different macOS devices
    • Shared detailed logs and screenshots with support
    • Repeatedly followed all recommended steps (cache clearing, full reinstalls, updates)

Despite this, the issue remains unresolved, and support continues to respond with boilerplate messages such as “please wait for future versions” or “use the latest version.” No technical feedback has been provided. The ticket has even been closed without a proper resolution.

I am now asking the developers directly and publicly:
Will this issue ever be fixed, or should macOS users accept that MusicFab simply won't work properly anymore?

Please, be honest with your customers. If a fix is not coming, say so. If macOS is no longer a priority, clarify it. Many users would rather hear a difficult truth than continue wasting time on false hopes and repeated reinstallations.

    Transparency matters.
    Nag.

On Windows, the main trick seemed for me to be to first install the Amazon music desktop app, launch that for Amazon music -- then launch SF leaving the desktop app minimized.

sorry, I also use StreamFab ("SF") ... I obviously meant MusicFab (MF) in this context, related to music and the Amazon desktop music app.

I tried that on Mac - no luck. I still have this problem where as an AmazonMusic subscriber I cannot do anything within MusicFab. I just get the standard "Update Chrome Error" - I even occasionally get it using a non-amazon music userid. This problem, along with not being able to download songs with an "E" rating apparently will never get fixed.

Just move on and get the Windows version. That was my ultimate "it works" solution. You might put in support ticket and "request" moving your license from one platform to another, even if minor upgrade fee or something. Or just buy it. Pays for itself almost instantly. I originally got it to download albums I'd already purchased over past 30 years in multiple versions and unwilling to "pay for the third time" for some albums just to get keep-it copies of 24/96 and 24/48 versions of stuff I already own.

Just a thought, anyway. Nobody here seems to reply without snark -- so unless you put in support ticket for the problem; just consider buying the Windows version. It just works. No drama.
