these are what i have (Ridata). 2 reviews show others not having problems with ps3 playback:

i'll pick up some of these and report back if the work or not:

i just tried an optical quantum on my PS3 with no luck. i was using memorex. when i put them into my PS3 i get nothing, no error or anything, it simply doesn't do anything. all my discs play fine on stand alone players and the computer. if i can't play them on my PS3 then whats the point. i am not going to buy a blu-ray player for my living room when i have a PS3 there. i am really getting annoid with the "try the latest release" fix. if they haven't fixed it specifically then how will it magically get fixed? what the heck is going on with these. does the PS3 have higher safegaurds or something than players?

twenty valve, what steps are you taking?? You never mention, so we should just guess why its not working for you??

EVERY bd-r Ive ever made worked on the PS3. Unless your PS3 stopped reading Blurays (bad laser), then it must be a mistake in your process. But you don't say what you've tried?

i do like everyone else. latest version of Fab. movie only for little to no compression on a BD-R, burn with image burn. i have tried in the past with tsmuxer with no success also. my PS3 plays blu-rays all day long with no problems. also since my backups play on everything but a PS3 i doubt it could be my process.

            Twenty, give this a try...

Copy your Bluray to the hard drive in folder format (not ISO).

This should create a BDMV & Certificate folder.

Then use Imgburn (by itself, not using FAB)

            follow this guide:

            Imgburn Guide

Step 4 is most important, You must have BDMV & Certificate and "File System" must be set to UDF 2.50 for compliant BD-R/RE

Burn at a slower speed, 2x-4x.

This should ALWAYS work for a PS3 and Standalone.

i followed this exactly with the latest versions of both dvdfab and imgburn. im now 0 for 5 with discs that work in the PS3. all 5 work on the PC...

which 25GB media are ps3 bullet-proof? maybe this is the problem

Most on here prefer Verbatim but the reality is that no brand is immune to a bad pressing. I haven't had any problems playing Optical Quantum BD-R 25GB(burned at 8x speed) on my fatty PS3 and multiple PC BD drives but have not been able to get any brand discs that I use(OQ, Verbatim LTH @2x, or TDK BD-RE@2x) to work on my parents standalone Panasonic BD-60. Sometimes the problem isn' the disc as much as it's a picky BD player

I was at lost like you!! See check this out I have 2 friends that have PS3's and the both have the newest FW The movie was the expendables, it played on 1 PS3 but not the other?? Optical Quantum! I purchased some Memorex BDRE which are ridata disks, and burnt the movie onto the disk and it would not even play on my stand alone!! Now I have been buying TDK BDRE and have issues here and there and I think it has something to do with the formating which I use ImgBurn, see here is the thing I formated one with windows and when I burned using ImgBurn the copy rate was 2.4x and the write rate was 1.1x and I had no problems playing in my stand alone! But when I format with ImgBurn copy rate is 2.4x and burn rate is 2.4x funny thing is I don't get a write miss compare! Pick your self up a TDK or Verbatim BDRE if your player can handle that media and try it!

though, can you post your burn logs?

(did you use Imgburn by itself?)

Yes I did use ImgBurn by its self, as that seems to be the suggestion from the guys that know what going on!! I burned The Social Network on 2 TDK-BDRE that had been formatted in ImgBurn and I would get the standard error this disk cannot be played (samsung) And then formatted one out the box, in windows where ImgBurn takes 2 hrs or so, windows does it in 3 min! So I burned it to the disk and it played just fine! No errors on either burn!!

                          @crackinhedz

i forgot to mention i clone the disc to my HDD. from there i go through the process i posted earlier.

i still have the temp folder from my last effort of the main movie of mean girls. this shows the certificate and bdmv folders. i will use those with imageburn alone and post my results.

Diablozoe had this exact same issue when trying to burn BD-RE...you guys should ask him how he finally made it work.

It has to do with the way the disc is formatted...enable or disable "sparse areas", some devices play back correctly depending on which format method is used.

Unfortunately that is a snag with BD-RE disc....BD-R needs no formatting and works 100% every time.

Ihave not tried the movie that I burned on using windows to format the disc, its tricky I have burned a movie but a blank into the drive had ImgBurn format it then burned and it did not play, then did it again and it played!! But what I can say is every movie I have burned (with the exception of the new one because I have not tried it, and its got cinivia protection) all work on PS3 and my samsung bdp 3600-4600!

On another note where in ImgBurn can you change how its formatted? Ive looked all over!!!
