        Please try to disable floppy drive in device manager and then try again.

          Ok, I am not sure what the floppy has to do with running DVDFab....

          I have taken your advice, however and disabled the floppy drive,
          and the result is no difference... DVDFab still crashes with exactly
          the same error....

            Does DVDFab crash at startup or when you do something?

                Please try following steps:

                1. Reboot to see the result;

                2. Do you have anti-virus or other system programs running? Disable or exit them to see the result;

                3. Did you install some programs recently? Uninstall them to see the result.

                Thanks.

                  DVDFab crash...

                  I have tried rebooting, also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software...

                  I made sure to do a complete uninstall (including deleting the directory, etc),
                  then installed v8.0.6.1 (run as administrator).

                  I run BitDefender Internet Security 2011 (in Game Mode - similar to disable).

                  As for any recent changes to my system, no...
                  Other than installing DVDFab v8.0.6.1

                  I had DVDFab v8.0.6.0 installed previously, and it ran with no errors...

                    Defender is your problem even if it disabled it will cause this problem. If you remove Defender from computer then DVDFab will start again. Take a look at this thread as it was reported as problem in post #13

                      Yes, the latest update of BitDefender causes DVDFab crash at startup, please report to the vendor of BitDefender. For now, you need uninstall BitDefender to make DVDFab work.

                        DVDFab crash...

                        I appreciate all the help you have given me... I am hesitant, however to
                        switch AntiVirus software after using BitDefender for so long now (and having paid for it!), especially considering I have had no trouble with it up until now... I will contact BitDefender and hopefully they can fix the problem...

                        Thank you again for all your help, guys!

                          DVDFab crash...

                          Just wanted to give you guys an update...

                          I am aware of the difficulties with the new version of DVDFab (v8.0.6.1),
                          and how it interacts with BitDefender Internet Security 2011.

                          I decided to try it again, and sure enough, DVDFab crashes on startup...
                          However, when I enable "Game Mode" on BitDefender, DVDFab starts up
                          with no problems! I will still be contacting BitDefender in regards to the
                          crash problem, and hopefully they can get that problem corrected...

                          Just wanted to say thanks again! (I know I've said it a lot already!)

                          DVDFab is still the best software I have ever used to back up my movie
                          collection (bar none!), and the technical support is first rate!

                          Keep up the good work!
