Please exit/disable Passkey while you open the disc with DvdFab so it will decrypt and detect Cinavia itself.

If you are using the latest version of Passkey, it will exclude DVDFab.exe then DVDFab will see encrypted disc as normal.DVDFab is the all-in-one software package for copying Blu-ray/DVD and converting video file.

hmmm
i tried to backup "the social network" to a bd25. i checked the create a protected disc for cinavia box...
it said i had to burn directly to a bd-r (instead of making an iso like i usually do), and after the hour or so to copy the disc, when it went to burn..it failed.
i must have done somethign wrong, i am seaching this forum to see what i should do. i will try later on i guess.

Same issue with SALT Main Movie
I noted a problem doing Main Movie protected disc with SALT in another post. The overall process in DVDFAB indicated success but the burn result with IMGBURN did not play. The log file was full of "sync" issues. I guess this initiative is still a work in progress. Log files below.

Hi bluboy
Which player did you used to play the protection disc?
The protected disc only can play in ps3 or some stand alone players which support cinavia protection.
So if your stand alone player not support cinavia, please don't enable the protection(not check the box).
Hope to help you.

Update - Main Movie - SALT - Success
Instead of using ImgBurn (release 2.5.5.0) which produced "CPI flag and Bad Sync" errors I decided to try the VSO burn engine embedded in DVDFab. I never used it before but it worked great and I was able to make a BDMV-REC disc (SALT Main Movie). I used ImgBurn originally to make a protected ISO on my HDD. By the way I used 8.0.7.3 of DVDFab. The disc played perfect on my PS3.

cinavia . .
I want to make sure I understand all this.
If I create a "protected disc" with DVDFab, it will play in a player that has cinavia implemented, but not in one that doesn't. And if I create a disc that is not "protected", the opposite is true.
I was thinking it would be ok to make "protected" discs in case I ever get a new player that has the cinavia rootkit installed. But those titles will not play in my Sony BDP-S1000ES that I use now. Have I got that right?
Hopefully my player does not have the hardware in it to ever permit the cinavia rootkit to be installed.
It would appear that maybe we should just not mess with these cinavia discs until this problem is solved - don't buy them, don't rent them, don't copy them . . . maybe Sony will figure out that whatever money they are spending on cinavia is truly a waste of money.

You can also wait for the announced feature that will allow you to make BDAV protected discs <-- the compatibility for those is broader.
