    problem with Social Network

Hi, I also posted in the cinavia section. I'm unable to achieve the process to create the BD-R for the movie "Social Network". I selected main movie (and removed HD audio) and then "create protected disc...", I started the process before going to bed, next morning it as asking for the blank BD-R, I inserted one and then I saw rapidly imgburn open and closed immediatly after, and DVD fab stated that "Process failed"... is there an option I missed or something ? Here are the logs :

On the first part of the log you did not select protected disc! Also it looks like your trying to burn an ISO and from what other members have said you cannot do that! Read through the cinavia thread and there might be some answers for you.

Hi DiabloZoe & thanks for the reply ! Forget about the first log ((2011/03/08 23:40:19 - which I just removed from my initial post to avoid confusion), the second one is the good one (protected disc = 1). As for .iso, the way I did it is through DVDFab selecting source as the disc and output as the BD-R drive (so I didn't do any particular "in between" steps...)

      thanks again for your help...

Yeah, that's a known issue with Pioneer. Please wait for an update to fix that. Thanks

The devs are also working on the output size problem. This is quite the problematic disc.

I too had the issue with the output size being compressed much smaller then what I had selected for this disk (Blu-ray). I was compressing the Main Movie and removing the HD audio. My output was set to BD25. I got a different output size each time, each compressed way smaller then what they should have been.

I did manage to get around it though. Here is what I did.

First do a Full Disc copy to the hard drive as an ISO image, remove the HD audio (which I usually do when compression is needed) and select the audio and subpictures streams that you want to keep. You'll want to use BD50 as your output for this step.

Now using the image you created above as your input, switch over to Main Movie. You should already have the audio and subpictures streams that you want (from the previous step) so select them, set your output size to BD25 (which is what I wanted) and click Next then click Start.

This worked for me. Hopefully someone else will find this useful.

It depends on when a workaround can be found. You see, the program must be correct as it works fine with other drives, it's just some Pioneers that moan about.

Ah ha! No wonder I keep struggling in trying to create a protected backup of "The Losers" using my new Pioneer BDR206 drive. This is a DVDFab issue with the drive not the drive itself right?

                    Thanks,

                      Thanks,
With your drive issue aside, Fab can not at this time make a protected backup of The Losers! I am using the latest Fab Beta and tried ImgBurn and VSO. It copies the movie just fine I don't get any errors but when it loads up VSO or ImgBurn it closes and asks to send the info to Fab! I don't make protected disc's but just wanted to see if I can replicate the problem as I did!

So 2 issues then, my Pioneer drive will not make a protected backup thru Fab of any movie, and second, the Losers will not backup either way. Both can hopefully be resolved by Fabs crew. Hoping for an update soon

I dont have knowledge of your drive I see one of the other members said you did! But I can confirm the movie aspect!

I just tried the latest version 8.0.8.2, and it still comes out to 13.8 Gb in size. I guess we'll have to wait for a fix.

That is the actual size of the movie.
