Curious problem ...
I use [other software] to back up my movies to play through network player.
I use Blu-ray copy to back up to disc. I figured that if I ever lost a HDD I could use the BD-r that I backed up with Fab and convert to MKV again.
Here is the issue ... I noticed that if I use Blu-ray copy to back up a movie that has a DTS HD master audio track with the DTS core imbedded within it, then [other software] will NOT be able to read that copy (either from the HDD or from a BD-R). However [other software] will read a direct rip (or an [other software] rip) of that same disc, no problem.
The issue is with the audio track. If I remove HD audio, then [other software] has no problem with the copy made with DVD FAB Blu-ray copy.
I have not checked with back up of a movie that contains Dolby True HD with embedded core audio. But if the original contains a seperate HD audio track, ie. a seperate LPCM track (either Dolby or DTS) then [other software] has no problem with a Blu-ray copy back-up.
I hope the above made sense. Are there some settings I may be missing within Blu-Ray copy? Is this a known issue maybe?
