Glad to someone else it having this issue

It has been driving me nuts, I to want TMT5 with MC for family support. But guess I will have to do full disc until another solution comes up. Thanks for your post they are helping my sanity. I put lots of time into getting my HTPC and have just about gave up on making this configuration work.

If someone can make a combo blu ray player, mounter, splitter, decoder, encoder, media center master, media browser configuration that is windows media center integrated...I will purchase it and give you a big bear hug until you can't breathe

Good Grief, Pixars "The Incredibles" still doesn't copy right with 8.0.1.3 It still freezes alot during the movie. This movies has been out for a long time and DVDFab still can't copy it. Does anyone know what version of DVDFab worked for this movie? If any?
8.0.7.3 Freezes once towards the end.

I'm tired of trying DVDfab with the same movie over and over again.

          freezing....too many titles

lock-up has become all to frequent with blu movie only rips... using dvdfabQt...and earlier
and the fault appears to be Dvdfab...
Just ripped Inception, movie only to iso... copy locks up 3 min in...
ripped again with [Other software] to iso... no lockup...
then used the iso rip from [Other software] as source for dvdfab... locks up again at 3min.... draw your own conclusion... same results with Ironman2 and Terminator Salvation... Nothing destroys the viewing experience worse than a movie that doesn,t play to the end... dvdfab is a nice package when it works... xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx...

            Freezing and lockups....

This has been an ongoing problem for DVDFab for some time now...
Any Blu-ray move that has multiple .m2ts files that make up the main movie,
(seamless branching type) DVDFab seems to have trouble making the
transition from one .m2ts file to the next .m2ts file.

            Some examples are:

Tangled, Stops after opening Disney Title Credits
The A-Team, Stop at 00:03:54 into movie.
Harry Potter 7 Part 1, Stops after opening WB Title Credit
The Expendables, Stops after opening credits
I am Number 4, Stops approx 00:10:00 into movie.
Taken, Stops approx 01:06:00 into movie.

I really hope the folks at DVDFab take a serious look into this problem, as it has been ongoing for some time now, and a lot of paid subscribed users of the software are all experiencing the problem.

I agree with rggauld. This has been happening for awhile now.

I also agree with rggauld and 0brian. I have the exact same problem with movie only that has multiple m2ts files. movie skips at certain points throughout the movie.

I have an email dated May 4 from the DVDFAB Tech Support team that confirms there is a problem with the software handing movies that incorporate seamless branching. This is where the movie is made up of many m2ts files. Their recommendation is to go back to version 8073. That is not foolproof though as skipping still happens.

In this situation, posting all the burn logs will not help one iota.

I can't even get any of my Blu-Ray iso files to begin playing. The DVD iso files work fine.

Of course even PowerDVD 9 has trouble and stumbles a lot with the new Blu-Rays, but DVDFab has no value at all at this point.

Have also issues playing back HP 7 movie-only ISO

I have used DVDFab versions 8.1.0.5 and 8.1.0.6 to rip Harry Potter 7 Part 1 to ISO in movie-only mode.

Playing back the disc created from this ISO on my PS3, from the the movie plays back in slow motion from the beginning without sound. Playing back the disc or the ISO image on my Win7 machine using WinDVD 2010, the movie freezes some minutes into the movie. Playing both back on the same machine using Media Player Classic shows no subtitles, although both the English and Dutch subtitles are available when playing the same disc of image with WinDVD 2010 (this clearly seems to be an issue with the movie player).

I used the VSO engine to create the ISO and burnt it to disc using ImgBurn. Soon I'll try to use ImgBurn for creating the ISO to see if this solves the issue. Otherwise, will have to try [Other Software] to see if I get the job done without play back issues ...

                      Update:
I've ripped HP7 to ISO using ImgBurn instead of VSO. The full disc copy seems to play OK om my computer, the movie-only rip suffered from the same problesms as the copy I made using VSO to create the ISO and stops playback at the same point (9:50 minutes into) the movie.
I have yet to try if the rip to folders instead of ISO gives me better restults. The problem is that the play back software used to play the mounted ISO (WinDVD 2010) is not able to play back movies from folders. I have other play back software, but they may have other or no issues simular to WinDVD. I'll burn the folders to an ISO and a rewritable BD-25 to see if this method works better.

I'll keep you posted as I'm testing what works and what does not. If any of you have a clue or can give me some pointers, I would be very pleased toi hear them.

I have tried the following last evening:
I made a full disc backup/rip with the 'other software' to ISO and to a folder and used DVDFab on both rips to create a movie-only ISO (with ImgBurn as the 'plug-in' burner). Playing back both movie-only ISO's in WinDVD still didn't work, the picture freezes again at 00:09:50 (hh:mm:ss) while the sound continues to play. The ISO of the full-disc rip created by the 'other software' plays back fine (as does the full-disc rip made with DVDFab, by the way).

I read somewhere that an older version of DVDFab (not sure which one, have downloaded that version already but have not yet installed it) handles ripping of these 'seamless branching' titles (with loads of smaller *.m2ts files) a lot better than the newer versions. I will try this older version to see if it resolves the problem.

All I want to do is creating a movie-only backup of my blu-ray on a 25 GB BD-R. The movie fits nicely on such a disc without re-encoding if I just include 1 (original HD) audio track and 2 subtitle tracks. I'd hate to have to resort to other (free but cumbersome and slow) tools to get the job done.

It seems that DVDFab has all its program logic in place to handle these seamless branching titles (with multiple *.m2ts files), since it can create a full-disc backup which plays back fine (so it seems). Why are these same discs causing issues when creating movie-only backups?

                          Harry Potter 7 - Part 1 blu-ray movie-only copy playback issue

                          Update July 19., 2011
Burnt the full-disc backup to a BD-RE (50GB), but haven't had the chance to test the disc. Will post an update as soon as I've tested the disc on my computer and PS3.

For the people of Fengtao reading this thread, I've attached the internal log (truncated to show only the movie-only and full-disc copy of HP7) and the ImgBurn burn log for further investigation of the issue.

Hope this problem can be fixed. It seems a lot of people have the same problem making movie-only backups of their blu-ray discs.

                                Last update:
I used DVDFab version 8.0.7.3 to create a movie-only ISO from the folder where I previously had created a backup with DVDFab 8.1.0.6 (working with files on the hard drive wirks faster that using the blu-ray disc). After completion the ISO was burnt to a BD-RE and tested on the computer and on the PS3. On both machines the movie plays flawlessly, without freeze, skips or any problems.

Seems that the inproper handling of movies with seamless branching by more recent versions of DVDFab was indeed the cause of the problem. The seamless branching in this particular movie consists of extra's that are shown at certain points in the movie when this option is enabled in the extra's menu.

So it seems obvious that 'all' Fengtao has to do is merging the code in version 8.0.7.3 that handled seamless branching properly into the newest/latest version. I know it's not THAT easy as it sounds, being a software developer and software configuration management professional myself ;-)

Good luck in providing us with a great piece of software!
