    Compression question

currently im backing my movies up as a iso to a external hard drive and playing them off a device, question is if i wanted to back a movie 47gb in size to a bd-25 disk would that have to remove hd audio in order for it to fit? lol love hd audio and cant loose that.

Removal of HD audio is an option under user control, and there are tradeoffs in video quality if the available space is used for HD audio, but given the very acceptable video quality of even the BD9 compression level, I would expect that BD25 with HD audio would be very good, especially if you make this compression of the main movie only from your Full Disc or Cloned ISO.

You might remove HD Audio if you wanted to compress a 26GB movie to a BD25 but going from BD50 to BD25 Will not matter. Just remember to do all the compression on the HDD.

sorry forgive my ignorance here but isn't it a bigger compression from BD50 to BD25 rather than compressing a 26Gb movies to a BD25?

can anyone recommend a br-disc, i found a 10pk online....Optical Quantum 25GB 4X BD-R for $5.06 lol just never heard of them or tried them before.

The point I was making is that removing HD Audio is not going to make much deference when you are compressing a huge file to a real small file. People usually remove HD Audio to make the file smaller say compressing a 26GB file down to fit on a BD25. Taking away the HD Audio might let it fit uncompressed onto the disc. As for the Optical Quantum its hit and miss your best bet is to pick up some good quality BDRE so you don't make any coasters. And the better quality media you pick up the better chances of not making coasters you will have!
