    Source Code BD - Playlist

DVDFab defaults to the wrong playlist for Movie only copy.
The correct playlists are (reportedly) 00743 or 00876.

The reason there are several dozen erroneous playlists is a wonderful new copy protection scheme from (who else?) Sony called Screen Pass. The erroneous playlists scramble the movie, repeat scenes, omit scenes, display messages about how you need to buy an actual copy.

And apparently, this has caused player problems for people trying to play the actual discs.

Will we need a 'screen pass' thread to provide the 'actual' playlists for discs like these?

I'll stop copying movies when I can watch the movies I own without FBI warnings, forced trailers, commentary notices, etc. etc.

All the movies have different playlist not considered protection schemes, not saying the op is wrong just pointing out that Fab will pick the correct one 99% but sometimes you have to view a playlist or 2 to make sure you have the right one in the preview window

Just backed up this movie with 8.0.7.3 and used the selected playlist that fab picked out. It worked just fine on both my sony & lg player. When i tried to use the playlist 00876 it did not play in my sony standalone correctly. It freezed up and pixelated. I played it in my lg standalone and it worked fine. Does this make any sense? Has anyone else ever have this problem using two different standalone players?

What type of BDR media are you using?

You can check in ImgBurn to see who actually makes the media sometime you get a few that did not press correctly and if the media is really cheap like ridata then that can be an issue! You should have 1 good BDRE like TDK or Verbatim just to rule media issues out!

This is a copy protection scheme from Sony, not just different playlists for different versions of the film. Look at the different playlist files and you will see the clips are in different orders. The two I cite are the only two with the 'correct' movie length and have the right clips in the right order.
Also, there is a clip in the stream folder that just displays
Copy detected (or a rip tool is running if you are trying to watch this movie on your PC.) Please visit http://summit.continuemovie.com for more information.
                  on the screen.

The disc are PHILIP-R04-000. I'm not sure why it doesn't seem to work on my sony standalone. I haven't had this problem before. I too thought maybe it was the media but i have tried 4 disc out of different bundles of these disc with the same problem. I'm not sure if it has something to do with this new protection where the sony doesn't want to read the disc right. Weird how the cheaper Lg blue ray player works better than the more expensive sony standalone player. I'm going to try this over my parents house and see if it plays on there sony player. It's the same model as mine. Was wondering if the new beta version that came out today fixes this new protection? Has anyone been able to back this up & will work on a standalone player? Or does it freeze up on them after about 8 or 9 min. of playing. This is what happens on my sony but doesn't do this on lg player. I tried slowing the burn speed down to 1x but for some reason image burn comes up with error when i select 1x and burns 2x. 2x should be fine though because i have burn alot of movies using this speed with no problems.

                      Folks:

I can confirm that the new beta version 8107 is still selecting the wrong playlist (131). I know Mr. Fengtao will be updating that feature very soon. For those of you who can't wait though, the correct title for Source Code is ..... drum roll please ........ 743. I retrieved this data from another forum on the Internet.

I used beta version 8107 and burnt to a Verbatim LTH 2X with Imgburn. I watched the complete backup and can officially confirm that it has zero defects and plays flawlessly on my Sony standalone.

                      Enjoy!

Well i gave it a try. It still freezes on my sony standalone Model Bdp-s360 but it plays just fine on my Lg model with no problems thourghout movie.I never had this problem before using this media. I have used over 5 different disc all with the same problem. I played this disc over my parents house they too have the same sony blue ray player and yes it too freezed up and skipped after playing about 5 or 6 min. into the movie. Is anyone else having this problem? I don't think its the media because i have backup other movies using the same media with no problems. Could this be a problem with this new protection on some players and not others?

It would seem that sony is the culprit! Can you pick up a BDRE like TDK or Verbatim to rule out the media 100%?

Willl give a try Diablo. Will pick one up today. It's weird because i have back up many movies before and used same media and all have played fine on my sony before. Could there be a firmware issue with my sony? I never updated it because of cinivia protection. i didn't want to have that issue with my player.
