    Wont read disk

I have two lite-on drives. Both copy bluray. When using dvdfab my problem is: When it first starts, it says there is a disk in the target drive. Then when it gets done copying, it gives me a message something like "trying to detect writeable disk in drive". It never detects it. My computer says it is there. On my other drive, it will start to write and eject when it is halfway saying "dvd failed to burn". Trying to copy duel layer dvd-9, on either drive, it say there is no disk in the drive. I am using Optical Quantum blank disks. It also wouldn't detect a blank Sony. They worked fine the first 200 tries on my first drive. Then I bought the second. It has all the same problems. I have taken dvdfab off my computer and put it back on several time with no results.
I also has other software whick does read the disks(not capable of reading bluray. Only dvd-5 or dvd-9), so I am thinking the problem is in dvdfab.
    Any idea's.
    Thanks
    Boney

      Failed to burn

I was successful over 200 times copying Bluray to bluray. All of a sudden I get ejected with 50% to 99% done and with the message "failed to burn. Do you want to burn another". I say I do, and I keep getting the same results. I have reenstalled dvdfab several times and get the same results. I'm using Optical Quantum blanks with over 200 past successes. Any ideas. Thanks

            wont read disk

Yes, it has done this to the last 10 or so movies. How do I find the log? I just bought some memorex disks and have the same results.

You can try the following steps to see the result.

                1) Restart your PC;

                2) Check if your Blu-ray drive power can supply enough. Maybe you can change a larger power;

                3) Try to put the blank disc in the Blu-ray drive and let it be fully finished recognizing it before you tell DVDFab to burn.

Sorry, I don't know what that means. How do I check the bluray drive power to see if it has enough?

                    boney,

I had 2 movies awhile back that the burn all of a sudden failed. I then ran ccleaner to remove files and then ran the registry portion. I then ran a registry cleaner called eusing which you can donate to if you want. You'd be shocked how much more this software finds than ccleaner. I then defragged the hard drive. I haven't had a problem since. I do this very often now. Blu ray disks are huge and it doesn't take many to fragment your hard drive. I don't have 2 blu ray burners as you do, which could be part of your problem, but you could try my way and see if it helps as it did for me.

                      Failed to open

E is my target. Now I am always getting the message "Failed to open E:\. Check to see if it is playable". This happens when I start a new BD to BD.
Sometimes it will burn and sometimes not. It also comes up if I do a second and third burn. It asks the same with all blanks dvd5 dvd9 BD

                        Hi boney.

                        Just perused your thread.
The easiest and simplest next step for you is to give Img a try.

VSO is fine for many users, but becomes problematic for many as well.
With respect to your problem, VSO is becoming confused with the layer break issue...I'm not sure why.

Click on the link in my sig for D/L site and setup of Img.

Also, RICOHJPN-D01-43 is margianl quality media and while I know you've had good luck with it in the past, you will almost certainly have some bad luck.
Do yourself a favor and pick up some Verbatim +R DL (look for made in Singapore on the spindle label).

As long as you've got the RICOH's, go ahead and give one of 'em a whirl with Img.
                        Let us know what happens.
                        Hope this helps

                          I'm ready to give up

I have tryed everything that I have understood that was suggested to me but nothing has worked. I keep getting ejected part way through burning onto a blank disk. I have taken everything off my computer and re-loaded them back on. I have switched to igmburn and that doesn't work. Using Bluray it ejects Optical Quantum and memorex BD disks. QQ and memorex BD to Double layer(ejected). QQ, memorex and BD to dvd5(ejected). I have tryed burning from E: to F:, from F: to E:, E: to E:, F to F:,.. It will burn non-bluray. dvd9 to dvd9, dvd5 to dvd5 etc etc.

I keep buying differant trpes of blanks. I now have over 300 blank BD's and 200 dvd9 and dvd5. I am running out of money.

I had over 200 success to begin with. Now nothing.

I'm trying to connect the dots here, but not having much luck except I get that you're becoming broke and are ready to throw in the towel.

You said Blu-ray copy always fails when writing to blank media.

I note this error in the last log you posted.

2011-08-15 14:46:58 Error Init DVD+R Dual Layer: Write cancelled, Your media is still usable..

This tells me that the media is still usable...never burned at all
                            Is this the case?
(Recall I mentioned VSO and the "problem" layer break)

You seem to be saying the media fails during the burn.

The atapi error also "points to" a drive problem, but still, the cause is unclear.

Could you post an Img log please?

This all seemed to have gone south with the installation of the 2nd BD LiteOn.

Have you tried uninstalling this burner?
If not please do so via Device Manager.
Windows will reinstall and assign the appropriate drivers.

If still no go, physically unplug the 2nd litey and see if Fab will perform correctly.

Are you able to burn BD blank media with other software with this 2nd litey drive?

How about BD files to dvd5 and dvd9 blank media?

I assume that that the BD files you're trying to burn playback when viewed from the hdd.

Also, when posting info about blank media...the MID (such as RICOHJPN-D01-43)
is the best reference for us.
Naming a brand like memorex doesn't tell us anything except it was probably made by the cheapest bidder using cheap materials...but not necessarily.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

                              Wont burn

The reason I bought the second lireon was the first was only burning halfway and quiting(ejecting or says "DVD Failed to burn. Do you want to burn another". Now both drives are doing the same thing. All burned movies before this problem started, play back great.
Some of the disks that say they are unused were not readable according to dvdfab(however, my computer said they were in the drive and empty).
You mention VSO and "problem layer break". I switched from VSO to IGM. But I don't understand "Problem layer break"(sorry). Both drives are doing the same thing.

Here is my latest log(I hope it's what you need). It only got to 2% before it quit.

I'm going to uninstall the burners now.

                              Thanks for all your help.
