Does the HDMI cable run direct from BD player to AVR. What I'm getting at is if the HDMI cable runs to the TV first then from TV to AVR this could be your problem because TV's are not capable of DTS pass through. You would still get Dolby 5.1 I am pretty sure but no DTS or DTSMA .

don't think so. Movies dont work with hd audio via media stream or usb. Only like dts and or ac3. Could never get anything to work with dvd fab and trying to make a mkv with hd audio. Must be the player or codecs. People are using other media players so i guess it must be the player? i can only use the core. All my keepers i put on a disk with hd audio, and ones i don't watch much go on hard drive. Some mkv that i make say may not playback properly, can not regognize audio format or i will get video and no audio. even read of mkv header problems and ran them through mkv smoothie but still no hd audio. Tried with mkv remux and audio copy.?Last edited by hanibal; 02-26-2012, 12:18 AM.

Yes mate it would appear it's your player. I downloaded the manual for LGBD590 and the audio listing is
Playable Audio format: “Dolby Digital”, “DTS”,
“MP3”, “WMA”, “AAC”, “AC3”
Not all the WMA and AAC Audio format are
compatible with this unit.
No mention of DTSMA. I use a WDTV Live media player at present and while it will pass through the DTS core it won't play DTSMA. I am waiting on a new DUNE Smart H1 which apparently handles all Audio.
Any way sounds like the problem is hardware not software
