How to Check DMA status
How to Check DMA status of your Optical Drive
1. Right Click on 'Computer'and Select 'Properties' and then 'Device Manager'
2. Click on 'IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers'. Right Click on each named 'channel'
3. Click the 'Advanced Settings' tab, Click on each Target id and make sure 'Enable DMA'
is Selected.*
*Some 'channels' may be empty. Not all will have the option for DMA mode 5. Some may be 4 or less. Generally Optical drives will be DMA mode 4 and HDD will be DMA mode 5.
*There's settings in the Bios also but I make no mention of it since there is so many different one's. I will not advise anyone on making changes to the Bios!*
