    Hi Potti,

    1. No idea. I got rid of the coasters when they failed to play.
    2. I always use the dvdfab burning engine.

Just because one FOx title works doesnt mean all of them will, ite all depends ont he encryption they use for protection. Also just cause someone has an LG burner in the states works but your UK version doesnt, means nothing. The manufacture may have changed something to meet UK specs. DOnt get mad at DVDFab these guys do great work, and work hard.

you need to remember that for playback on official hardware players, the encoder and muxer needs to be 100% bluray compliant to gaurantee playback, anything less and it may not play correctly.. An example is x264, with the correct perameters it can encode to a 100% compliant 2D video stream but not yet 3D

ok i have had time to make another attempt to backup i robot 3D..when i put the backed up disc i cannot open through my computer so i have no idea what files burnt onto the disc but the backup to the hard drive shows an i robot folder..open that and apart from the mini iso there are 3 folders,BDMV/CERTIFICATE/FAB!.
FAB! Contains another folder called duplicate and 15 files ( 2xcerificate cci files etc )
CERIFICATE contains Backup folder and certificates etc.
BDMV Contains movieobject.bdmv/index.bdmv then 8 folders..in the stream folder there is m2ts files and an SSIF Folder which is empty.

the disc plays on power DVD but its blackscreen on 3 different standalones.

I have no idea if any of this info is relevant,I was wondering if support could tell me if they purchased the LG Model I use to play Blurays,I was told they were purchasing it to test.

I used dvdfab burn engine..i have tried this at several speeds all same result

Gary1609:To see if the ssif files are burnt onto your fab made disk please insert dvd in your bluray drive click computer-right click blu ray drive-click open-click bdmv-click stream-click ssif file folder if their are files in this folder it should play in 3d if you used the fab burning engine to make and burn the disk notice i said make and burn make meaning when you put the disk on the drive your using a burn engine to burn or put the store brought disk info on the computer make sure fab burning engine was engaged before you put the disk on the drive. Now if you put the disk in the drive and windows doesn't see it and their is no title and no disk space used listed by windows then theirs no files at all on the disk. This is important to answer as it was a staff member asking for this information in order to better help you.

Because this is happening with mostly UK disks and players i believe staff should focus on this by testing with UK disks and Uk dvd players with effected models of players. Not with US disks and players. One user said he got his LG player LGbp620 on UK amazon.

@glenns: this topic is about "black screen" on standalone players, not about "not playing in 3D" ...
btw: please use some punctuation when typing long text.

As mentioned before disks are playing on PC with PowerDVD without issues.
                  (Even in 3D)

No Glenns, its most likely because I use Windows XP.
Not even master blurays register up on the drive ( D in my computer ),it says windows cannot read from disc,it could be a format not compatible with windows.
My players and burn engines identify the disc in the programmes fine,so i can play any bluray and i can burn blank discs .. I simply cannot get the drive to open via my computer which does not mean theres no data there as it happens with master blurays also,it just means windows is not recognising the format ( only the programmes like powerdvd/dvdfab recognise the data on a disc.) I asume this is because xp was built before the bluray format came into play.

So I cannot give the details asked for although as I explained in a previous post theres no ssif files on the hard drive when i initially put the full movie on the hard drive ( the folder within the dvdfab folder ),wether that means ssif files are created during the burn process i dont know as i cannot access the data folders on any bluray discs including master discs.

Someone else in here mentioned there was ssif files in the folder but it still showed black screen..im fairly sure its a uk issue,i was the one that bought the LG from Amazon but i have 2 other players and both of them also display black screen.
Support indicated they were buying the uk player mentioned and the uk disc to try and replicate the issue but so far nobody has mentioned if they tried to replicate the issue with the uk disc and player mentioned.
Its only fox 3d discs that are giving a black screen..I have recently backed up the 3d of amazing spiderman perfectly,so i dont believe my methods of backing up are wrong.

Gary: I have power dvd 10 on the tabs where it says video/music/movie.On the movie tab is a little arrow that you can pull down that lets you select the drive you want to use.load a 25 gig disk that you made from a fox movie that you are having trouble with.Put it in virtual drive or leave it in the blu ray drive you can try both.If your power dvd is a latter version just look for the same buttons elsewhere.

load a movie in power dvd then hit the video tab your drives should be listed on the left double click the drive you put the 25 gig disk in(virtual drive or your blu ray drive) then on the right all the files on the movie show up, at the top of the list is a folder called ssfi to see if their is any files in the folder left click your mouse and hold the mouse button down and place the mouse pointer over the ssif folder while continuing to hold the left mouse button down.If you see what looks like a single frame of film with a 1 in the middle then the ssif files are in the burnt disk this is what staff wanted to know.If theirs no 1 in the middle of the frame then the folder is empty and they would know the files didn't transfer when the burn was done. Those ssfi files are hidden until you burn them.

                        That doesnt work either.
I got the list on the left for the drives but in the D drive ( the drive with my bluray in there is no list at all,nor does the movie title come up in drive D ( not even on a master bluray ),but they do play fine in powerdvd so the files are being read, they just cant be displayed in my drive..all it says on the left under D drive is go up one level but it doesnt do anything if you click on that.

If I insert a DVD ( instead of bluray ) Into drive D and use power DVD then go through that procedure the movie is listed and the files show up so im doing the correct procedure but drive D does not let me see any files nor does it acknowledge the bluray is inserted but it does play fine.
Its an XP issue I believe so maybe one of the other members who can read the files can give support the info i cannot supply.

                          Hello all,

I see that the problem is still alive and kicking LOL!

The fact that this is happening only on Fox titles (UK or US - I've had problems with both) is what puzzles me the most. Any other brand/studio works absolutely fine for me.

All I ever do is insert the blu-ray, select Clone, and let DVDFab do its job until the blank disc is burned. It always works fine except for FOX. So it must be the way they encode their discs. I even got a brand new LG player last November in the hope it was only affecting my previous Samsung player, but no luck. Yes I'm based in the UK, but I buy both US and UK discs and in each case it's only the Fox discs that are an issue. I have been repeating this so many times in this thread, I'll just shut up now.

By the way, in response to the bizarre post on the previous page: I don't think that any of us complaining are angry at the DVDFab staff! It's just one of these things, and I think we are very patient since this thread was started in October 2012, 3 months already - keep on the good work DVDFab, I'm sure this will be sorted eventually!

                            Gary1609:
To see BD content with Windows XP, you need a UDF 2.5 reader.First try your drives firmware sight for your model see if they have a driver update or a udf 2.5 reader for your drive.See if you can call or get email support from them.If not search the Internet and you will see others having that problem and how they solved it.Also if your drive ever saw a blu ray in the past then lost being able to see a blu ray a simple lens cleaning did the trick for others. This being said so you can help staff out by seeing if the ssfi files are in the burnt disk as asked by staff in this thread by the team leader in post #44.

                              Update?

Are there any improvements with this issue?

I`ve not heared anything about this for weeks now .

My last try did not change anything and the BD was not playable, as it was before... ;(

                              Will there be a fix?
