BD-R backup not playing but bd-re works?

Hello,
I am new to the forums and have searched for why my backups don't seem to be working but have hit a wall. Here is the hardware:
-Windows 7 ultimate x64
-Intel qx6850 quad core
-4gb ram
-lite-on Blu ray burner iHBS112

Software:
-DVD Fab HD (latest trial version for now)
-Imgburn (as image burner integrated with dvdfab)
-Cyberlink Powerdvd 9
-Dvd fab virtual dirve

2 Blu ray players I have to test backups:
-PS3
-Samsung BD-P1500

Here is the situation:
1. I will rip the Main Movie from my blu ray onto the hard drive as an iso. No problem at all.
2. Then I will mount the iso and watch it under cyberlink powerdvd 9 and it plays just fine.
3. To test a burn I will burn the iso onto my Verbatim BD-RE. The burn will play perfectly on both players.
4. Then I will make a burn onto Verbatim BD-R but when I play it on the Samsung it says "this disc can not be played". The PS3 does not recognize the disc at all.

I also have Ridata BD-Rs which give me the same results. I initially only had the Ridata discs and thought it was the discs that were not compatible so I bought the Verbatim discs. I have tried backing up "Hulk" 2008 and "Sherlock Holmes". Again, the BD-RE plays perfectly but when I burn onto BD-R it does not work.

The BD-R burn will play on the Blu-Ray burner in the computer with no problem. It does not play on the standalone players.

Maybe my settings in Imgburn? But the same burn for BD-R don't work. Does Imgburn automatically change burn settings when it detects a BD-RE versus a BD-R? I also don't see any errors in the logs when I burn however I do need to pay closer attention to the logs, but again the BD-RE burns are working.

from what you are saying it's obvious that any of used software caused reported problem, but usual suspects - players. There are couple of things to look into:
(a) BD-R compatibility in general. Please check with player's spec. If spec says that your player should play this media, than another possible cure is
(b) firmware update. Please do it and try...

Thanks for the replies. I believe my PS3 has the 3.40 firmware it is pretty much up to date. The Samsung player is still the original firmware which I probably need to update. However, it is more important that the burn works on the PS3 than the Samsung but both preferably. The BD-RE works on both currently.

As for the logs, the "dvdfab process" log is empty.

I just updated the firmware on the Samsung blu ray player and it gives the same results, "the disc can not be played".

This is baffling to me. I must be missing some small detail somewhere. I know that the iso I am ripping is working on the computer. Getting it onto the BD-R to play corrrectly is the problem. Do you guys have better luck with Memorex bd-r? Usually verbatim is one of the best.

Looks like you are using the VSO burn engine and ImgBurn seems to work better for Blu-ray movies. Use the link below to get ImgBurn and to configure it to work with DVDFab. ImgBurn is free

SOLVED:
I installed an LG burner today and burned a movie using my same previous methods and it worked beautifully. So the new Lite-On burner that I was using was the problem. The LG works great though and is quieter.
So words to the wise, stay away from the new Lite-On burner as I am not the only one who experienced this problem. A quick scan of the Newegg reviews of the burner shows that others were having the same issue, so I changed burners and it works great now.
