Still having trouble backing up "A Christmas Carol" DVD movie

Not to long ago, I posted a thread called "Unable to backup movie "A Christmas Carol." Anyway, in that last thread I stated that I tried backing up my purchased DVD movie "A Christmas Carol" several times but have had no luck. I later discovered that the DVD disc itself was of bad quality and that was the cause of the issue not being able to back it up. Therefore, I want back to the store of where I purchased it at and explained to customer service that it didn't play right in my DVD player and a couple of times it even froze for a minute before it resumed play. I then asked for an exchange for the same title movie. Once the exchange was complete I went back home and I updated the DVDFab program from v8.0.5.0 to v8.0.5.1 Beta. I put in my new exchanged "A Christmas Carol" DVD movie and attempted to back it up. However, during the process, DVDFab v8.0.5.1 Beta displayed the following message, "ERROR WHILE READING! WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO?" Yes I do have PathPlayer set to always on and yes my DVDFab is fully paid for and registered. I do not know what else to do to eliminate the issue I am having when trying to backup the DVD movie "A Christmas Carol". Once again I have tried several times to backup my purchased DVD movie. Please help! I am also posting the DVDFab v8.0.5.1 Beta Log Files for you to see and maybe come up with a solution to my problem. Thanks...c0afanh.

P.S. I even used DVDFab PassKey v8.0.0.2 to analyze the DVD Disc and this is what came up...

    Hi c0afanh
I am not sure if this may help but you could try to reset DMA, I did not see any reference to it in your logs but you could try, to do this
Open Fab Click the Green top right > General > make sure Check for DMA Automatically is Checked and also Click the Reset DMA to the right click OK and restart Fab.
    Hope this helps

Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.

I did the reset of the DMA and tried to backup my purchased "A Christmas Carol" DVD movie and ended up with the same result. DVDFab v8.0.5.1 Beta reported ERROR 102. Any other solutions? Do you think there might be a new copy protection on the DVD movie "A Christmas Carol" disc? I am now starting to wonder. If there is, the techs at DVDFab need to come up with a work around to resolve the issue.

          Hi, c0afanh
DVDFab works fine to backup this DVD "A Christmas Carol", we tested it.
Please make pathplayer enable, and check the DVD driver. Maybe you can change a DVD driver to retry.
          Thank you.

If you had a bad pressed DVD and exchanged for another from same retailer then that one could be as well since they press DVDs in batches and retailers could get multiple DVDs from same batch that are bad pressed DVDs.

You can download and install VSO inspector and run a disc surface scan on the original DVD to see if you get any errors. I have exchanged about 7 bad DVDs to Best Buy at one time because it would not play correctly but on the last return I asked for my money back and went to another retailer and had no problems with that one I purchased

PathPlayer is always set to ON and I have tried different drives as well and it still did not work. Look at my DVDFab v8.0.5.1 Beta Log Files and you will see that PathPlayer is set to ON. Take a look.

Here are the final results of the VSO surface disc scan of the DVD movie "A Christmas Carol". It will show that the disc has 44 errors with 194 good sectors. Therefore the disc is made of very bad quality. Take a look at the VSO inspector Log....

Ok, does not look good but I as well forgot to mention that you would need to have Passkey running while VSO Inspector scans the DVD or first open DVD with DVDFab/ PowerDVD and then run scan. But it looks like another bad one.

I never open the DVDs first using Passkey or other method I mentioned but some do recommend it
