    Knight and Day- Australian Version

    Hi everyone.

I recently tried to copy Knight and Day, the Australian version, and it gave me a very strange output file size. Either it shrunk an entire movie to 150MB, or there is a new copy protection that DVDFab does not recognise. I am using a laptop with Pentium Dual Core CPU, running Windows 7 Professional

I have attached a screen shot

    Help Us Help You

If you are posting about an operational problem with one of the DVDFab products, you will improve the speed and accuracy of the response by providing some information in the very first post that will probably be needed.

First, make note of any error codes or messages that appear in popup boxes and put them in your post. Information on error codes that appear in the DVDFab UI are captured in one of the logs we request below.

DVDFab keeps logs of its activities that supply basic system information and can help pinpoint where and when an error happened and help pinpoint the cause. The default location for these logs on most Windows systems is:

    C:\Documents and Settings\your username\My Documents\DVDFab\Log

The logs are simple text files that can be opened with Windows Notepad if you want to read them. If the size exceeds the forum’s attachment size limit, you may need to delete older entries or copy and paste the relevant ones into a new file. The log files can be attached to a post using the "Manage Attachments" button below the editing box.

dvdfab_burn_vso.log Attach for all problems. The entries are time stamped with the most recent at the top.

dvdfab_burn_imgburn.log Attach if you have ImgBurn set as the burning engine and the problem concerns disc burning. Time stamped with the most recent at the bottom.

dvdfab_process.log Attach if DVDFab crashes and the crash report window does not come up or complete correctly or if internal error codes appear in the DVDFab window (“Task Failed…”). Time stamped, most recent at the bottom.

dvdfab_internal.log Attach for all problems. Time stamped, most recent at the bottom. Please edit to include only the most recent or relevant log session.

    Other Information:

Depending on the nature of the problem, it can help to know:
If this happens with all discs or just one
    Your operating system/CPU/memory configuration
If you are using external hard drives or optical drives
If you have made any recent changes to your OS or system hardware
If you have other DVD or BD software installed, particularly if recently added.

Posts with all the requested information will be answered first.

OK... Your process log shows a task 1 failure with error code 400 (a Transcoder Error).

At this point, we don't know whether it's a Fab problem or a disc problem. Let's start with the most likely suspect... the disc.

Download and install a utility called VSO Inspector (a freebie on the web).

Start up Fab, put the Knight And Day disk in your drive, and let Fab open the disc. Once the disc is open, with Fab still running, start up VSO Inspector and run a scan on the disc.

Any errors during the scan will point to the disc, that it is a bad pressing, and should be returned to the store for exchange for a better disc.

If no errors are seen from the scan, please let us know, and we'll go from there.

Did you use that program exactly the way I indicated??

From the log you submitted, it looks like most of the disc wasn't scanned at all!??!

Sorry about that. I didn't have Fab open last time. Here is the new log.

Also, I have just been reading that Fab only comes with Passkey Lite.

Is the ability to copy Knight and Day only available when you pay for the full retail version of Passkey?

The Main DVDFab program does not come with Passkey and does not require you to use Passkey as it a completely different program

Does DVDFab DVD Copy support the new copy protection on Knight and Day (AUS Version)? I am using the latest DVDFab (v8.0.6.6), and have seen nothing about it in the updates or release notes.

I'm from Canada and have no idea so will just have to wait for another member who from Australia and has had success with it.

Those the wrong info files fengtao asked for as you have the option to either save or send info files and those was what fengtao was asking for

, which is the window I went to, and inserted the DVD, waited for the info to appear, and saved the text file, and attached it.

Other than that log, a VIDEO_TS folder was created, and a DISC.BIN image file.
