    DVD Copy audio sync issue

I have been chasing an issue doing a custom copy and then converting to WMV. I started copying all 7 seasons of the Golden Girls series, using DVD Copy to remove subtitles, menues, trailers etc. to create a clean copy of the episodes. Starting with Season 3, I started seeing a audio/video sync issue after using Video Converter on every episode (converting to WMV format), after the midpoint on each episode. I tried DVDRip and had the same issue. I even tried Roxio's Creator software on the DVD Copy output and saw the same thing. On seasons 1 and 2 everything was fine.

After troubleshooting further, I found the issue would start after a scene switch near the middle of each episode. As soon as the scene switch occurs (where they removed a commercial), the very next frames I start seeing the sync issue. To troubleshooting further I used a competitive product to DVDFab to do the DVDCopy function and then used Video Converter and the Roxio video converter products to convert to WMV and both work perfectly.

This leads me to believe that the DVD Copy custom output is getting something out of sync, which is causing the video converter software to be out of sync when it hits the scene switch. If I use DVD Ripper to rip the same DVDs to VOB files, I don't see the issue.

I can reproduce this issue consistently and am happy to upload anything which would be of help to resolve.

    Hi, jbinkley60

    1. Please check if there is A/V sync issue to the output file ripped by DVD copy.
    2. If not, post internal log, we need more info about fulldisk, profile etc.

    Thanks.

I did another custom copy of Season 3 Disc 3. If I play the output DVD files off my hard drive with Windows Media Player, I am not seeing any audio/video sync issue. However, I tried converting the first title on the DVD to WMV and at exactly 13:45 into the show (after a scene switch) it immediately got out of sync.

      Here's the DVD Copy log:

        Hi jbinkley60,

When you convert the DVD title to WMV, please make sure you have set all the video decoder options and video encoder options as "Software" in Common Settings->General->A/V Codec.
