Well, I tried it again and the language problem is fixed!!!!!!! Thanks. However, the main issue persists. DVDFab starts and tries to decode the DVD. Unfortunately, the drive is not being read but the blue bar shows that program thinks it is being read. My hard drive continuously spins and the task manager cannot shut off the process. However, after about 2 minutes or so, the process does end and the disk stops spinning. I am attaching a copy of the last entry of internal log.

      Hi, freeforever03

Please change the "path player" set to "Always Enable Pathplayer" to retry.

      Thanks.

I'm sorry. I forgot to mention that I changed the path player to "always enable". It didn't help. Therefore, I have been using [OTHER SOFTWARE] and Nero 10 to make DVD backups. It appears that both Nero and [OTHER SOFTWARE] do not have a problem controlling this Lite-On drive. It also appears that DVD Passkey does not have a problem either.

I also have the Lite-On iHBS212 drive and I have no problems at all. I'm running Windows XP sp3 with Verbatim LTH blu ray disks. My brother-in law also has this drive, we both got them as xmas presents from my wife, and is running Windows 7 with no problems. He is also using LTH disks. We are both using Fab version 8.0.8.5. My standalone player is a Panasonic BD45 which plays LTH perfectly. I've also created regular dvd's with no problems. The only thing this drive won't do is create a cinavia protected back-up. No problem for me.

That's very interesting HIDEF. I just tried xxxxxxxxx and it has no problem with my new drive. It seems that the problem lies with DVDFab. I hope the programers at Fengtao can fix this issue. I sure that I am not alone.

                    Hi freeforever03
If you do not have ImgBurn installed and use it as your burn engine, please install it and configure it to work with Fab, you can do this by clicking the link in my signature.

Have you also tried uninstalling your drive from device manager and restarting your computer and let Windows reinstall the drivers for your drive.

If you decide to install ImgBurn as suggested, open ImgBurn click > Tools > Filter Driver Load Order, and post what is listed.

Thanks for your response. The idea of uninstalling the Lite-On driver is interesting. I have not tried that yet. I will definitely give that a try.

However, I don't see how the burn engine will solve this. The problem manifests as soon as DVDFab tries to read the disc in the drive. My primary disk drive starts spinning, DVDFab does not display the "moving bars" (showing that the DVD disc is being read), DVDFab cannot be stopped (the task manager cannot stop it), and the system has to be rebooted to restore everything. This problem is not present when I use my old NEC 3500 (PATA optical drive). The real question is why does DVD Passkey work properly? I would expect to have the same problem.

Also, I have Nero 10 installed. I assume I can try that for burning as well.

                        Hi freeforever03

The reason for using ImgBurn is that it is the best burn engine on the planet, bar none.
The other reason that I wanted you to install it, is that another program may have control of your drive that is why I asked you to post what was in the Filter Driver Load Order.

EDIT: And as I said in my previous post, make sure that Passkey is disabled and any other on the fly decrypters.

In case you need an explanation:
AnyDVD blocks your drive from access by DVDFab. That's cause all of your problems. You have to kill process and then start DVDFab application.

                              Hi freeforever03
As I suspected earlier in this thread another program has control of your drive, and as my friend IPopov50 pointed you will need to kill the process.

I do not use this other software, nor do I ever plan on using it since I have DVD Fab, so you will have to kill the process or uninstall it and remove the filters.

If you wish to remove the filters, open ImgBurn click > Tools > Filter Driver Load Order > click on the Lower class filter > then click Remove selected filter, you may have to restart you system I am not sure, since I have never had a program have control of my drive.

I would then open ImgBurn up again and check your filters again.

Note: the program that installed this filter may no longer work properly.

I took your suggestion and removed the AnyDVD filter driver using ImgBurn. I then launched DVDFab v8.0.9.6 Beta and inserted a DVD into the Lite-On drive. Unfortunately, the program exhibited the same behavior. Below is a copy of the dvdfab_internal.log:

                                DVDFab 8.0.9.6 (2011/06/07 07:58:38)

                                0m 03.38s: option dvd2dvd 1 dvd2mobile 1 bluray2bluray 1 bd2mobile 1 bd23d 1 bd2dvd 1 file2mobile 1 filemover 1
0m 03.77s: Qt Translator file load success

I believe an important factor to consider here is that my old NEC drive works properly (even with the AnyDVD Lower Class Filter) and that DVD Passkey works as well. This leads me to believe that the problem lies in DVDFab itself.
